Joe Biden’s reckless policies are crushing the working class as the cost of living continues to skyrocket amidst a nearly unprecedented level of inflation in recent years.

Democrats’ proposed plans to “fix” the crises their policies created will only make matters worse.

And now this Democrats’ economy-destroying plan to “help” working class Americans will leave you shaking your head in disbelief.

Democrat Rep. Barbara Lee is forced to defend minimum wage position

California’s 2024 U.S. Senate race is well underway and the many Democrats lining up to replace retiring Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) are taking center stage.

Polling suggests that it’s currently a two-person race between woke extremist Reps. Katie Porter (D-CA) – who previously argued that terms like “pedophile” and “groomer” shouldn’t be used because they somehow label individuals as criminals because of their “sexual orientation” – and Adam Schiff (D-CA).

But there is another woke extremist trying to break through in the race — Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA).

In a debate earlier this month, Lee touted her time as a small business owner, saying that she knows what people in our country need and that businesses can afford it.

“Benefits, retirement benefits, also healthcare benefits,” Lee rattled off. “I know what worker productivity means, and that means you have to make sure your employees are taken care of and have a living wage.”

The comments came in response to the moderator asking Lee to defend her position on the controversial topic of a federal minimum wage.

Republican warns of increased costs for Californians

Lee believes that not just Californians, but Americans at-large are entitled to a minimum wage of $50 per hour.

This makes her fellow Democrats’ calls for a $20-$25 minimum wage look like chump change, but she believes it’s necessary.

Steve Garvey, the lone Republican candidate in the California Senate race, pushed back on Lee during the debate arguing that the “minimum wage is where it is and should be.”

The Republican seemed to take a conciliatory position on the current minimum wage that California Democrat Gavin Newsom signed into law in 2023, bringing the minimum wage to $20 per hour in the Democrat-controlled state.

“If you look at what California has done to fast food franchises right now, increasing the minimum wage to $20. Then what’s going to happen? That’s going to increase costs for hard-working Californians to go to a franchise,” Garvey said.

But Lee isn’t running for a state seat — she’s running for federal office.

A drastic surge in federal minimum wage could lead to disastrous economic consequences for the very working class Americans she claims to want to “help.”

“Fight for $15” has been harmful to workers in low-income areas

The California economy was put in a state of shock when they increased the minimum wage last year.

Instead of gradually increasing the wage over time — it happened all at once.

One franchise owner in the Los Angeles area said that he was having to make major changes to prevent the new law from harming his business.

Marcus Walberg operates four Fatburger restaurants, and he says that customers were “already complaining that prices are too high.”

“This program should have been phased in over time instead of jumping the California minimum wage for our staff by 25% in one single day.”

The result has been a reduction in staff and loss of jobs.

Opponents of minimum wage increases have been warning for years that a large shift in the federal minimum wage would harm workers nationwide.

The Texas Public Policy Foundation is one of many organizations that have been pushing back on the “Fight for $15” trend that has been growing in recent years.

The group warns that a major shift in minimum wage could reduce the mobility of workers on “the income ladder,” and it would have major consequences for those in lower income areas.
