Democrats shredded the Constitution and legal norms to try and take out Donald Trump.

That shortsighted decision is going to blow up in their faces in spectacular fashion.

Now Barack Obama is panicking after one ruling against Donald Trump could put him in jail.

Former President Donald Trump was dealt a major blow when a three-judge panel on the D.C. Circuit Court rejected his motion to dismiss Special Counsel Jack Smith’s criminal case over January 6 on the grounds of Presidential immunity.

“For the purpose of this criminal case, former President Trump has become citizen Trump, with all of the defenses of any other criminal defendant. But any executive immunity that may have protected him while he served as President no longer protects him against this prosecution,” the court wrote.

Democrats celebrated the court handing Trump this setback without considering its implications.

The panel declared that a former President is no longer protected from prosecution after leaving office for actions taken while as President.

This opens the door for former President Barack Obama to be prosecuted by a future Republican administration for actions he took in the White House.

Former Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) said that Obama and former President George W. Bush need to worry if the D.C. Circuit Court’s decision stands during an appearance on Just the News, No Noise.

“There are things that need to be held accountable,” Collins said. I just believe right now they’re making false assumptions about what Donald Trump did is part of his executive privilege or overseeing elections. That needs to be discussed. But by this ruling, they’re basically opening the door up for the Obama drone strikes which killed Americans and the George Bush policy of detainees and the torture memos that all came up.”

Obama came under fire for secretly killing four American citizens with drone strikes in Yemen in 2011 without any sort of due process.

“We may agree that those were fine, but somebody in the Department of Justice could say ‘you violated the color of the law here, and we’re going to prosecute you now that you’re out of the office,'” Collins added.

Trump can still appeal his Presidential immunity ruling to the Supreme Court or ask the full D.C. Circuit Court to rehear the case.

Collins said that the Supreme Court needs to consider the weaponized Justice Department created by Attorney General Merrick Garland and President Joe Biden.

“They’ve never had a Department of Justice run by President Biden and Merrick Garland. They never had this issue,” Collins said about Trump’s setback with the three-judge panel. “So for me, it’s a little bit frustrating for them to not take into account the fact that this is a fresh encounter, and then to look at what their judge and their ruling may take into, and I’m afraid that the Supreme Court may fall into this same trap.”

Democrats could live to regret their decision to wage lawfare on Donald Trump.
