Alvin Bragg thought he had all of his ducks in a row for his case against Donald Trump.

But one weak link could cause the whole thing to collapse.

And now Alvin Bragg is facing one massive problem that could upend his witch hunt against Donald Trump.

All eyes are on Manhattan Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg now that the trial for his witch hunt against former President Donald Trump is underway.

Despite the fact that both his Democrat predecessor and the Biden Department of Justice refused to touch the case because there was nothing there, Bragg is attempting to have Trump convicted for supposedly falsifying business records to cover up a so-called “hush money” payment his former attorney, Michael Cohen, allegedly paid porn star Stormy Daniels on his behalf.

George Washington University constitutional law professor Johnathan Turley pointed out the glaring problem with the case in a piece for the New York Post.

“Bragg then used the alleged federal crime to bootstrap a defunct misdemeanor charge into a felony in the current case. He is arguing that Trump intentionally lied when his former lawyer Michael Cohen listed the payments as retainer costs rather than a payment — to avoid reporting it as a campaign contribution to himself,” Turley explained.

Alvin Bragg’s star witness is a serial perjurer

Cohen is the star witness in the Trump case, but he has a significant credibility problem after admitting to committing perjury by lying under oath.

“Making this assorted business even more repellent will be the appearance of Cohen himself on the stand. Cohen recently was denounced by a judge as a serial perjurer who is continuing to game the system,” Turley wrote.

Cohen has likely committed perjury multiple times, destroying any credibility he has as a witness.

“For those of us who have been critics of Cohen from when he was still working for Trump, it is mystifying that anyone would call him to the stand to attest to anything short of the time of day . . . and even then most of us would check our watches,” Turley added.

Cohen ripped by a judge for being a perjurer

In March, U.S. District Judge Jesse M. Furman denied Cohen’s request for supervised release from his 2018 conviction for tax evasion because he testified in New York Democrat Attorney General Letitia James’ witch hunt against Trump.

Cohen testified last year that he lied to a federal judge when he pled guilty to tax evasion in 2018 because he was actually not guilty.

“It gives rise to two possibilities: one, Cohen committed perjury when he pleaded guilty before Judge Pauley or, two, Cohen committed perjury in his October 2023 testimony,” Furman wrote.

He admitted that he lied under oath.

That ruling can be used by Trump’s legal team to attack Cohen’s credibility as a witness in the case.

“So this is the case: A serial perjurer used to convert a dead state misdemeanor into a felony based on an alleged federal election crime that was rejected by the Justice Department,” Turley wrote.

Michael Cohen could be a serious problem for Alvin Bragg’s witch hunt against Donald Trump.
