Christians face persecution and violence all over the world including the United States.

Over the last several months in particular the woke left-wing outrage mob and Islamic terrorists alike have increasingly targeted Christians.

And now this foiled Islamic terror plot should serve as a major wake-up call for American Christians.

This foiled terror plot has put Christians across the globe on high alert

In many parts of the world, Christians face persecution, and risk experiencing violence simply for practicing their faith.

Christians have even come under attack in America with the woke left-wing outrage mob and Islamic terrorists setting their crosshairs on people of faith the world over.

Most recently, the FBI arrested 18-year-old Alexander Mercurio in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, for allegedly planning to launch a series of terrorist attacks on churches in the surrounding area this past weekend.

Following his arrest, Mercurio faces federal charges of attempting to provide material support or resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization.

If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in federal prison.

The FBI claims that Mercurio planned to capture his father, restrain him, and steal his firearms to carry out these onslaughts at area churches.

“The defendant allegedly pledged loyalty to ISIS and sought to attack people attending churches in Idaho, a truly horrific plan which was detected and thwarted by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force,” FBI Director Christopher Wray wrote in a statement following the arrest.

Furthermore, an unnamed FBI investigator wrote in the bureau’s criminal complaint that, “Mercurio spread ISIS propaganda online and solicited ISIS’s involvement in and approval of his propaganda efforts, discussed traveling from the United States to join ISIS, [and] considered and planned ways to support ISIS financially.”

“His attack plan involved using flame-covered weapons, explosives, knives, a machete, a pipe, and ultimately firearms,” the investigator added. “His plan grew more precise as he eventually identified the specific church and date on which he planned to attack.”

This foiled terror plot comes after a slew of anti-Christian hate crimes over Easter weekend.

In one instance, a trailer full of burnt Bibles was discovered outside of a Tennessee church on Easter Sunday morning, terrifying churchgoers and locals.

To many Americans, this pattern of hate crimes and attempted terrorist attacks represents a larger problem of extremists targeting Christians as political statements.

America has a long way to go

Christians have become a popular target for the woke left-wing outage mob and Islamic terrorists alike in recent years.

Following the landmark Dobbs decision, which overturned Roe v Wade, woke extremists firebombed churches and crisis pregnancy centers across the nation while President Joe Biden and his regime sat on their hands.

Many Americans have blamed Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats for stoking these tensions on the Left, at times calling on them to take to the streets and use any means necessary to oppose those with whom they disagree.
