But now Ted Cruz just exposed the multi-million-dollar media indoctrination scheme the Biden regime doesn’t want you to know about.
Funded by taxpayers like you – whether you like it or not
The Public Broadcasting System and National Public Radio like to say they’re “funded by viewers/listeners like you” while campaigning for donations.
However, according to The Washington Post, PBS, NPR, and other small affiliates of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting received about $525 million in taxpayer dollars in the last fiscal year.
PBS and NPR use those monies from hard-working Americans to put out news and programming that pushes the woke agenda.
One would think $525 million in taxpayer-funded handouts would be more than enough for Democrats to indoctrinate audiences.
However, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has uncovered a Biden White House program pouring even more of your money into woke propaganda.
Government-sponsored discrimination
Senator Cruz is now exposing the Biden regime’s funding of the Independent Television Service (ITVS).
Cruz hammered ITVS CEO Carrie Lozano in a letter, and in an interview with The Daily Wire.
The report says Cruz took exception to ITVS giving out $35,000 in supposed “scholarships” for “directors of color” to make documentaries.
“Because white filmmakers are facially ineligible for this seed money, the fund runs afoul of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Section 1981 of the Civil Rights Act of 1866,” Cruz wrote. “I therefore urge you to remove race as an eligibility criterion for the Diversity Development Fund. ITVS can surely pursue its mandate to ‘expand the diversity and innovativeness’ of public programming without violating the law.”
ITVS brags about using the diversity fund to produce 156 films made exclusively by filmmakers who “identify as a person of color.”
According to The Daily Wire, Cruz is taking aim at the $17 million in taxpayer funding the ITVS receives to produce woke propaganda that is marketed as supposed “documentaries.”
“As if this blatant violation of the law were not concerning enough, ITVS appears to almost exclusively fund documentaries from a liberal viewpoint, and may be discriminating against certain filmmakers based on political ideology,” Cruz said. “I have no doubt this organization could expand the ‘diversity and innovativeness’ of public programming without violating the law, and I am hopeful ITVS will commit to removing race as an eligibility criterion for the Diversity Development Fund.”
$17-Million in taxpayer dollars to teach leftist activism
The Daily Wire is reporting that examples of ITVS documentaries funded by taxpayers without their knowledge include: Racist Trees, a film about the removal of trees from an area in Palm Beach, California woke extremists claimed were “an enduring symbol of racism;” Everything Wrong and Nowhere to Go, a film examining one woman’s “search of a cure for her crippling climate anxiety;” and Breaking the Blue Wall, a film that takes aim at police officers in Maryland and claims the state government protects bad cops.
ITVS isn’t hiding the woke political agenda it uses your tax money to propagate.
On its website, ITVS encourages “political activism,” and features an “Impact” page with materials teaching audiences how to “take action” on a variety of woke issues.
