Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell continues his crusade to send Billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to defend Ukraine’s borders while refusing to fight to secure America’s.
The recently scuttled so-called “compromise” border bill shined a bright spotlight on McConnell’s position as the poster boy for the uniparty.
The depth of his betrayal of the American people and Republican values can’t be ignored.
When America First Republicans demanded that the Biden border crisis be fixed as a condition of additional Ukraine aid, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (RINO-KY) joined forces with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to craft border legislation.
Like so many other disastrous bills McConnell has promoted in the past, this measure was written in secret and destined to be shoved down working class Americans’ throats.
McConnell could have tied a big red bow around it and given it to President Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats as a late Christmas present because it gave them more than they could have dreamed.
McConnell’s gift to Biden
Instead of securing the southern border, the legislation created an express lane.
McConnell’s legislation would have normalized 5,000 illegals flooding into the U.S. every day, expanded Biden’s power to wave illegal aliens in, required all 30 ports of entry to admit a minimum of 1400 migrants a day (504,000 migrants a year), and codified Biden’s use of woke bureaucrats instead of immigration judges to rule on asylum claims.
And that’s just a sampling of the horrible policies crammed into this bill that would have ensured the U.S. was overrun with illegal aliens beholden to Biden and Democrats for providing them with free housing, clothing, food, education, cell phones, transportation, and every other need or want they have at working class American taxpayers’ expense.
McConnell surrenders without a fight
Make no mistake, McConnell’s legislation wasn’t a border security bill, it was a surrender to Democrats and a massive betrayal of working class Americans.
After Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) proclaimed this travesty dead on arrival in the House, Senator McConnell stated the problem was a matter of politics, not policy.
Actually, it was both.
McConnell’s bill was horrible politics, and even worse policy.
It gave Biden and Democrats the ability to continue flooding the country with illegal aliens, and made Republicans the fall guys for the catastrophe sure to result.
Time for a change
After so many years being Democrats’ lapdog, maybe McConnell can no longer tell good policy from bad, or maybe he doesn’t care as long as he gets to wield power.
Either way, what we know for sure is McConnell’s priorities are completely out of step with conservatives and the American people at-large.
The Republican Party is no longer the Party of ruling class elite, milquetoast, go-along-to-get-along establishment hacks, like Senators McConnel, Lindsay Graham (RINO-SC), and Mitt Romney (RINO-UT).
It’s an America First juggernaut that fights for principles and refuses to kowtow to Democrats.
It’s way past time Senate Republicans replace uniparty poster boy Mitch McConnell with a fearless Republican fighter.
