These days technology is bordering on the edge of science fiction.
What was once thought of as complete fantasy could soon become reality.
And now what the FDA just allowed one Elon Musk-owned company to do is scaring the daylights out of people.
Technology continues to change our lives
Ever since the Industrial Revolution, technology has been growing at an increasing rate.
Just over one hundred and twenty years ago, being able to talk to someone in a different town in real time was considered science fiction.
Then, the telephone came along and changed everything.
One hundred years ago, intercontinental travel that didn’t take weeks was considered a fictional dream.
Then, trans-atlantic commercial flights over the Atlantic Ocean became reality.

Seventy years ago, landing on the Moon was considered inconceivable.
Then, Neil Armstrong took the first steps for mankind on the Moon.
Fifty years ago, being able to have the world’s knowledge at your fingertips was considered a fantasy.
And then, the Internet made the entire world just a few clicks away.
Thirty years ago, having the ability to see someone in real time anywhere in the world was unthinkable.
Now, nearly every person has a smartphone making real time video calls a reality.
So the real question people need to be asking is not whether technology that is considered science fiction comes to fruition, but rather when.
And that should really scare you at this point.
Over the past couple of years, previously unimaginable strides have been made in technological advancements, like artificial intelligence.
But the idea of a computer becoming sentient and being smarter than any human alive shouldn’t be the only thing that strikes fear in you.
Now, Elon Musk is leading the charge on putting computer chips into people’s brains.
What can possibly go wrong?
Elon Musk founded Neuralink in order to develop computer chip implants that could potentially be used to treat neurological disabilities, paralysis, and other health issues.
In practice this sounds great, but when you think about it a lot can go wrong with putting computer chips in brains.
According to Neuralink, they just received FDA approval to conduct their first clinical trial with human subjects.
In a Tweet, the company explained that this clearance “represents an important first step that will one day allow our technology to help many people.”

Once someone has a computer chip in their head, imagine all the things that could go wrong, like the ability to control someone’s thoughts or actions.
Hopefully all ends well with this scientific endeavor, but the world is heading towards a scary place.
