The media landscape was turned upside after Fox News fired Tucker Carlson.

Suddenly the most influential voice in American media was without a home.

And Tucker Carlson surprised everyone when he uttered these three words about his future.

Fox News’ abrupt decision to fire Tucker Carlson sent shockwaves through the political world.

Carlson was the top-rated host on cable news, and the undisputed most prominent voice in conservative media.

His fans began to wonder what the future held for the former Fox News star.

Carlson finally broke his silence after his firing in a video posted Thursday night on social media at 8:01 P.M. – the same time he would have started his primetime Fox News show.

He said that after he stepped “outside the noise for a few days,” he noticed how many “genuinely nice people” who “really care about what’s true” there are in the country.

While he didn’t mention Fox News by name, Carlson lamented the state of cable news.

“The other thing you notice when you take a little time off is how unbelievably stupid most of the debates you see on television are,” Carlson said. “They’re completely irrelevant. They mean nothing. In five years, we won’t even remember that we had them. Trust me, as someone who’s participated.”

He mentioned that topics like “war, civil liberties, emerging science, demographic change, corporate power and natural resources” get “virtually no discussion at all” in the media.

“When honest people say what’s true, calmly and without embarrassment, they become powerful,” Carlson explained. “At the same time, the liars who’ve been trying to silence them shrink and they become weaker. That’s the iron law of the universe. True things prevail.”

“Where can you still find Americans saying true things?” he continued. “There aren’t many places left, but there are some, and that’s enough. As long as you can hear the words, there is hope. See you soon.”

That was the first hint from Carlson about his future after his departure from Fox News.

His website featured an email signup that told users they could “find out what Tucker’s up to next.”

Carlson’s immediate future is reportedly on hold while his attorneys negotiate his exit from his contract with Fox News.

The Daily Mail tracked the host down in Florida, and questioned him about his future while he was taking his wife to dinner on a golf cart.

“Retirement is going great,” Carlson told the outlet with a laugh. “I haven’t eaten dinner with my wife on a weeknight in seven years.”

When he was asked about his future plans, Tucker said, “Appetizers plus entrée,” before driving off.

That hasn’t stopped other networks from trying to lure the ratings juggernaut.

One America News Network (OANN) founder and CEO Robert Herring Sr. said that he was willing to make Carlson a blockbuster offer.

“It would be great if we could get Tucker!” Herring told the Times of San Diego. “I might give him around $25 million. And he would be well worth that!”

Tucker Carlson’s future will be the subject of intense speculation until he makes his triumphant return
