Joe Biden has been operating under the assumption that he is a lock to be Democrats’ Presidential nominee in 2024.
But lately, many top Democrats have begun to openly push for the Party to go in another direction.
In fact, this top Democrat is so desperate to ditch Joe Biden he’s now endorsing a laughable alternative.
Democrats’ frustrations with Joe Biden are only escalating
Democrats clearly never really wanted President Joe Biden to be their nominee in 2020 – they just didn’t want Donald Trump to win.
Still, Democrats did what they always do, they fell in line and dutifully turned out to slay the monster they portrayed President Trump to be.
But as time has gone on and Democrats have realized that they’re basically stuck with President Biden now that he’s in the Oval Office, they’re having second thoughts.
Those doubts truly first came to a head last week, when former top strategist for President Barack Obama, David Axelrod, broke all sorts of left-wing code by ripping Biden’s 2024 hopes and admitting that the President’s age is a “major issue.”
“The Presidency is a monstrously taxing job and the stark reality is the President would be closer to 90 than 80 at the end of a second term, and that would be a major issue,” Axelrod told The New York Times. “He looks his age and isn’t as agile in front of a camera as he once was . . .”
As Axelrod’s comments made the rounds last week, many on social media and in the corporate-controlled media speculated that this could be the beginning of a massive “anybody but Biden” push by some top Democrats.
And now, Axelrod has only further fueled such speculation by once again railing against a Biden reelection campaign.
Only this time he decided to suggest Democrats get behind a laughable alternative to President Biden – failed California Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA).
“If the President were not to run, it’s hard to imagine that Newsom would not be sorely tempted to enter the race,” Axelrod said. “Newsom is young and politically muscular, which may be just what the market will be seeking post-Biden.”
The point at which a failed, extremely unpopular Governor who barely dodged being recalled just a few months ago is seen by top Democrat strategists as a better option than the current Democrat occupying the White House has to be a new rock bottom for the Party.
And yet, things could still get worse for Joe Biden
Make no mistake about it, a veteran political strategist like David Axelrod doesn’t just throw comments like this out on a whim.
If David Axelrod is throwing out the suggestion that Gavin Newsom could be a better option for Democrats in 2024 than Joe Biden, it’s because he’s dead set on ensuring Democrats ditch Biden as soon as possible.
It’s the only reason to explain why someone who is as politically savvy as Axelrod would suggest replacing Biden with a failed Governor who just nearly avoided a recall for routinely ignoring his own COVID mandates and restrictions, which destroyed his state’s economy and caused an untold number of Californians to flood to conservative states.
Or why he would suggest Newsom is a better option than Biden when Newsom has just as many skeletons in his closet as Biden, especially when it comes to his affair with a staffer’s wife as Mayor of San Francisco, numerous other alleged affairs, and that pesky $31 billion fraud of taxpayers he preceded over, which robbed Californians of crucial unemployment benefits when he single-handedly made them unemployed in the first place during COVID.
Put simply, there has to be something going on behind the scenes in those smoke-filled back rooms where left-wing elites plot America’s destruction.
With comments like these coming from Axelrod and so many other leftists, when it comes to whether Democrats will try to replace Joe Biden as their nominee in 2024, there’s simply so much smoke there has to be fire.
