Democrats are careering towards another crisis.
The lawless behavior is out of control.
And This top Democrat Governor is in very hot water after a Biden-appointed judge unleashed on her all-out assault on the Constitution.
New Mexico Democrat Governor Lujan Grisham recently decided she could unilaterally shred the Constitution and declare the Second Amendment null and void.
Grisham declared a phony “public health emergency,” and suspended the rights of Albuquerque residents to both open and concealed carry firearms in public for at least 30 days.
Gun rights groups immediately filed a lawsuit.
And U.S. District Judge for the District of New Mexico David Urias, who was appointed by President Joe Biden, smacked down Grisham’s gun grab with a temporary restraining order, blocking the public health emergency from taking effect until both parties could litigate the case.
Judge Urias issued a blistering rebuke of Grisham, blasting her for somehow believing she had any authority whatsoever to unilaterally suspend the Constitution.
“The violation of a constitutional right, even for minimal periods of time, unquestionably constitutes irreparable injury,” Urias declared.
Grisham was unbowed, though, and vowed to simply pressure the New Mexico state legislature into passing even more gun control laws.
“Today a judge temporarily blocked sections of our public health order but recognized the significant problem of gun violence in this state, particularly involving the deaths of children,” Grisham wrote after the ruling. “As governor, I see the pain of families who lost their loved ones to gun violence every single day, and I will never stop fighting to prevent other families from enduring these tragedies.”
“Over the past four days, I’ve seen more attention on resolving the crisis of gun violence than I have in the past four years,” she added. “Now is the time to bring clarity of purpose: New Mexicans must again feel safe walking home from school, driving to the grocery store, or leaving their hometown baseball stadium. And I call on leaders across the state, from local law enforcement to the Legislature to mayors and county commissioners: Stand with me to enact solutions that save people’s lives. Throwing up our hands is not an option.”
Even her fellow Democrats knew Governor Grisham had walked them into a disaster with this scheme to unilaterally suspend American citizens’ Constitutional rights.
Gun grabbers know they don’t have the votes on the Supreme Court to sustain this dictatorial assault on American freedom, and that Americans wouldn’t stand for it even if they did.
But if Democrats did control the majority on the Supreme Court, it is a safe bet that Judge Urias would have upheld Grisham’s ruling.
