Many Americans of faith have long questioned Joe Biden’s claim that he is a faithful Catholic.

Now this researcher has compiled all the evidence to expose Joe Biden as a “cafeteria Catholic.”

But sadly, he’s not alone.

Biden continues to outrage communities of faith in America

President Joe Biden has always held a position that questions the sanctity of life.

But as President, he’s been causing an outrage within the Catholic Church.

The most recent example of Biden’s outright disrespect for Catholic teachings was seen at a campaign rally in Florida that focused on abortion.

Alongside the Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried, Biden made a gesture that was out of place, and for some, unforgivable.

Fried was on the warpath against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis when she said, “and then we come back to the state of Florida where Ron DeSantis felt like. . . 15 weeks wasn’t good enough.”

Just as Fried was complaining about the 6-week abortion ban DeSantis signed into law, Biden made the sign of the Cross.

Catholic leaders across the country quickly responded.

“Biden’s decision to make the sign of the cross in support of abortion extremism is a despicable charade,” said CatholicVote President Brian Burch.

Now, Biden is coming under fire from those within the Catholic Church’s leadership.

Biden “picks and chooses dimensions of the faith to highlight”

Ryan Burge, a researcher and associate professor at Eastern Illinois University, has been dedicating his spare time to a Substack series entitled “Graphs About Religion.”

And he says that President Biden’s disdain for the sanctity of life isn’t an isolated problem in Catholicism.

Burge’s most recent article highlights the phenomenon of “cafeteria Catholics.”

Citing Cardinal Wilton Gregory, Burge explained that a cafeteria Catholic is anyone who “chooses that which is attractive and dismisses that which is challenging.”

Gregory specifically stated that Biden is undoubtedly a part of that trend.

“Like a number of Catholics, he picks and chooses dimensions of the faith to highlight while ignoring or even contradicting other parts,” the Cardinal explained.

But Burge says that this isn’t an isolated incident in the Catholic Church.

Researcher claims less than 1% of Catholics value the sanctity of life

Through his research, Burge made a startling discovery.

It’s not just Biden who holds the views of a cafeteria Catholic.

“It’s not just many Catholics who disagree with the teachings of the church. In fact, if you look at the data, it’s nearly all of them,” he said.

Burge cited the General Social Survey suggesting support for the sanctity of life has reached an all-time low.

The researcher came to the conclusion when looking at Catholic support for abortion, the death penalty, and euthanasia.

In 1989, approximately 7% of Catholics agreed that none of these practices were acceptable.

Fast-forward to today, and less than 1% of Catholics agree.

The dramatic shift highlights a trend of Catholics becoming more amicable to abortion.

This is a troubling development, and it proves that churches should be taking a stronger position against abortion in the U.S.

Instead, self-proclaimed “Catholics” like Joe Biden are making it easier for Catholics in America to support this horrendous practice.
