Much to the dismay of consumers, consumer prices rose 8.6 percent in May, which showed economists’ hopes that the U.S. had reached peak inflation in March to be horribly wrong.
And as if that wasn’t bad enough, data from AAA shows gas prices have risen by over sixty cents in just one month.
The pain at the pump has gotten so bad that it inspired this Republican Senator to come up with a hilarious solution to Biden’s gas crisis.
Yellin’ at Janet Yellen
Earlier this week, Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) joined the Fox News Channel’s Jesse Watters Primetime to slam the Biden administration for failing to address America’s inflation pains.
The good Senator from Louisiana fired his opening salvo against the Biden administration by tearing into former Federal Reserve Chairman and current Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen for failing to see this inflationary iceberg coming.
“Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, who was also captain of ‘Team Transitory Inflation,’ announced she’s really sorry but inflation’s not gonna be transitory, it’s gonna be with us for a long while . . . In other words, she does not have a solution to inflation but she really admires the problem, in other words, get used to it.” Senator Kennedy exclaimed.
Now, while Secretary Yellen is an easy target to pick on, there is really very little that she can actually do to bring down inflation.
Kennedy’s solution to Biden’s crisis
Joe Biden, however, is a different story and was the next target of Senator Kennedy’s ire.
Kennedy continued by saying, “Meanwhile her boss, President Biden, continues to campaign for more economic chaos by trying to convince us in Congress to raise taxes by $3.5 trillion by expanding an already generous welfare state and by turning cops into social workers.”
Again, Senator Kennedy is right on the money with his analysis.
Instead of doing everything possible to combat inflation and reduce gas prices, Joe Biden and his administration appear to be trying even harder to make it worse.
Almost every policy that Biden and the Democrats have recently championed came with a multi-trillion dollar price tag attached to it.
And instead of making it easier for energy to be produced here in America, as it was during the Trump years, Biden’s EPA is making it harder to refine oil domestically and thus forcing us to rely even more heavily on foreign countries, who despise us, for our energy.
In light of Biden and the Democrats’ pro-crime policies and either unwillingness or inability to reduce gas prices forced Senator Kennedy to come up with the following hilarious solution.
Senator Kennedy said, “Meanwhile, I don’t know about where you live, Jesse, but in my state, the price of gas is so high that it would be cheaper to buy cocaine and just run everywhere.”
Of course the Louisiana Senator was joking, but it does highlight just how messed up Joe Biden’s America has become.
Perhaps it would be funnier if it weren’t so true.
