This Fox News contributor just laid the smackdown on an “oppressed” multi-millionaire superstar

Celebrity “award shows” are nothing more than an opportunity for rich elitists to stroke their fragile egos with what amounts to participation trophies.

At the same time, they’ve also turned into full blown political rallies for left-wing extremists.

And this Fox News contributor just laid the smackdown on an “oppressed” multi-millionaire superstar.

An “oppressed” Hefty bag

Earlier this week, MTV hosted their annual Video Music Awards in order to heap more praise and adulation onto privileged multi-millionaire “artists.”

Of course, no one actually knows why exactly the privileged celebrities are referred to as “artists” when most music these days is written by others and ultimately generated by computers, yet here we are.

Regardless, at this year’s VMAs, singer Lizzo grabbed headlines as she arrived dressed literally like a Hefty bag – which, for the record, is definitely not flattering for a woman of her girth.

But the headlines weren’t all about what she was wearing, as she proceeded to win MTV’s “Video for Good” award – whatever that means – and talked in her acceptance speech about being “oppressed.”

“I don’t know what music ‘Video for Good’ means, but I do know what your vote means,” Lizzo said. “Your vote means everything to me, it means everything to making a change in this country. So remember, when you’re voting for your favorite artist, vote to change some of these laws that are oppressing us.”

What a tough life . . .

Interestingly, Lizzo has yet to explain exactly which laws are “oppressing” a multi-millionaire, three-time Grammy winning rapper and singer, actress, and one of the most popular celebrities in the world, whose last album went double platinum after selling millions of copies, and who holds the Guinness World Record for most weeks with the number one rap song for a female.

It must be massive, though, if it’s going to hold her down.

In fact, she’s so oppressed, she could barely talk about being oppressed over the thousands of people in attendance who wouldn’t stop cheering for her.

It must be so hard to make millions of dollars and have people adore you.

“It’s like obesity porn . . .”

But not everyone was as impressed with Lizzo’s speech as her fans.

The Federalist’s editor-in-chief and Fox News contributor Mollie Hemingway ripped into Lizzo’s claims of “oppression,” and pointed out that the only thing really oppressing the singer is “her arteries.”

“She’s a very talented singer, she’s actually a talented flutist, but the only thing that is oppressing her are her arteries,” Hemingway said on Fox News. “Health is important, too, and we’re all different shapes and sizes and we should respect everybody else, but it’s actually just unhealthy. It’s like obesity porn.”

That’s a “boom, roasted” if there’s ever been one.

The fact of the matter is, if Lizzo were actually “oppressed,” she wouldn’t have even been allowed to get on that stage, much less tell the world she’s “oppressed.”

And she certainly wouldn’t have been able to sell millions of albums, make millions of dollars, and have millions of fans worldwide who hang on her every move.

But that would require the radical left-wing extremists to admit they live in an alternate reality, and there’s a better chance of Lizzo passing on a third plate of pasta than that happening.
