The Biden regime loves to trot out Pete Buttigieg to defend Joe Biden’s woke socialist agenda.
For some reason the Biden regime believes he’s one of their best surrogates.
But now this CNBC host left Pete Buttigieg mortifyingly embarrassed after he countered the Biden regime’s talking points with one simple fact.
President Joe Biden sent out an army of left-wing activists across cable news to engage in a victory lap over the fact that inflation only increased by 3% year-over-year – they’ve reached the point where as long as their failures aren’t completely catastrophic, it’s a win.
Biden Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was dispatched to CNBC’s Squawk Box to claim President Biden deserved all the credit for inflation supposedly “cooling” – which is apparently another word Democrats have changed the meaning of, as the 3% year-over-year increase was in addition to a 9% increase the year prior.
Democrats apparently expected self-proclaimed “journalists” across the media to simply accept their talking points, as they always have.
But Squawk Box host Joe Kernen didn’t allow Buttigieg to get away with blatantly lying to working class Americans.
Kernen hit back at Buttigieg by demanding to know how Biden can possibly get any credit for inflation “cooling” after the Biden regime previously spent month after month claiming skyrocketing inflation was simply the result of “global trends.”
“Now that it’s coming down it’s like, ‘Look what I did, I brought inflation down,’” Kernen told Buttigieg. “That doesn’t make no sense, it’s not logically consistent.”
As expected, the Transportation Secretary didn’t know how to respond, and offered up a nonsensical response that avoided directly answering the question.
“I don’t think that’s quite fair for a couple for reasons,” Buttigieg claimed. “First of all, these international comparisons, yes, we pointed out that inflation in the United States was not something that was just happening in the United States, it was happening around the world. But, we also pointed out all the ways that we were doing better than a lot of our peers around the world.”
When President Biden, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-CA) and former Speaker of the House Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) rammed through a $1.9 trillion socialist spending bill in March 2021, they ignored warnings from Democrats, like former Barack Obama chief economic advisor Lawrence Summers, that their socialist spending spree would send inflation through the roof.
After prices began rising, President Biden, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, and every other Democrat ruling class elitist falsely claimed inflation was “transitory.”
Instead, inflation steadily rose for 18 months, and still shows no sign of actually decreasing.
The American people don’t buy Pete Buttigieg and the rest of Democrats’ spin, which is why the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll shows just 34% of Americans approve of Joe Biden’s handling of the economy despite Biden’s allies in the press bombarding the public with propaganda about how wonderful the economy is performing.
