Manhattan Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg hasn’t held up to scrutiny very well since he made a big splash with his indictment of Donald Trump.
It’s become clear that the Soros-backed left-wing radical is prioritizing politically-motivated witch hunts against Democrats’ political opponents over prosecuting actual criminals.
And now the ridiculous deal Alvin Bragg gave a career criminal just before he indicted Donald Trump will drive you mad.
It’s now come to light that Manhattan Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg gave a “career criminal” a “sweetheart deal” just days before former President Donald Trump’s arraignment.
The “career criminal” in question reportedly faced a litany of felony charges, only to have them mysteriously knocked down to misdemeanors.
“Rodney Johnson, 53, who has nearly 90 busts on his rap sheet and two state prison stints under his belt, had his felony robbery charges knocked down to slap-on-the-wrist misdemeanors by Bragg’s office last week, law enforcement sources told The Post,” The New York Post reported. “Johnson skipped out on a court-ordered intervention program three times on a 2021 felony robbery case.”
Despite the charges against him – not to mention his extensive criminal record – Johnson was handed a measly $1 bail on the latest charges, records show.
“This guy has been breaking the law for 35 years,” one law enforcement source said.
“He’s been a one-man robbery spree preying on low-wage workers, then when the cops catch the guy, Bragg’s office downgrades the felon charges,” the sources said.
“All the while Bragg chases an indictment of the former president for paying a porn star,” the source added. “Priorities.”
Every single one of Johnson’s many charges were reduced to “misdemeanor menacing and petty larceny.”
While Bragg is content to let career criminals go free, he’s spending untold sums of money to go after Trump.
“Alvin Bragg has shut down the entire city, called up 38,000 NYPD police officers, closed down the FDR Drive and is spending an estimated $200 million of city funds, all for a $130,000 NDA,” Eric Trump tweeted. “I never thought I would see this level of corruption in the United States.”

Other prosecutors are even crying foul.
“A major principle of our system is the more crimes you commit, the worse the punishment,” former Bronx prosecutor Mike Discioarro said. “Should we tell people to commit more crimes to get a better deal?”
The Trump indictment reeks of political persecution, and Bragg’s record of handling other criminal cases only gives more weight to those claims.
Regardless of the outcome, the reputation of the Manhattan District Attorney’s office as a neutral arbiter of justice is in complete and total shambles.
