Fox News has come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks.
The bizarre decision to fire the most popular primetime host on cable news has many scratching their heads and wondering what’s going on.
But the list of topics Rupert Murdoch forbid Glenn Beck from discussing on Fox News will leave you steaming mad.
For many freedom-loving Americans, Fox News went off the rails decades ago.
Corporate media is corporate media
While they always claimed to be “fair and balanced,” and obviously haven’t gone near as far pushing woke propaganda on Americans as their competitors, they’re still a corporate-controlled media outlet.
Who can forget when former Fox News anchor Chris Wallace famously refused to report on former Congressman Ron Paul’s (R-TX) historically impressive second place finish in the Iowa straw poll, much less nearly any other aspect of the Godfather of the liberty movement’s massive grassroots campaign.
But Wallace wasn’t done, and he even went so far as to say that if Rep. Paul had won Iowa, it somehow wouldn’t have counted anyway.
Fox News’ Sean Hannity also attacked Paul’s supporters to the point that the host eventually found himself on the receiving end of a snowball barrage from liberty-minded voters.
The network even continues to hire left-wing commentators, and has completely ignored many conservative issues in recent years.
And now, they have fired the most watched and most influential person in traditional media, Tucker Carlson.
Don’t say God
In response, one of the most prominent and influential conservative media personalities in the nation – and possibly Carlson’s blueprint for the future – TheBlaze founder, and former Fox News host, Glenn Beck revealed that he was personally asked by Fox Corporation CEO Rupert Murdoch to not talk about God on-air.
On the April 26 episode of The Glenn Beck Program, Beck told his audience about the encounter after recapping the latest on Carlson.
Beck explained that Murdoch told him specifically not to use the word “God” while on Fox News’ programming.
As Beck put it, “This is something that bothers Rupert deeply, deeply bothers him. I was told not to use the word ‘God’ on the air anymore.”
“And I was like, ‘Wow, OK,’” he added. “That really bothered them, Rupert doesn’t like that.”
Later that day, Beck posted a clip of himself telling the story on Twitter, and wrote, “I don’t know if Tucker Carlson’s speech about God and prayer was the final straw, but I have a feeling it DEEPLY bothered Rupert Murdoch.”
When I was at Fox News, I was told not to use the word "God" on the air. They COUNTED how many times I disobeyed. I don't know if Tucker Carlson's speech about God and prayer was the final straw, but I have a feeling it DEEPLY bothered Rupert Murdoch. pic.twitter.com/4trZyHOYhI

Beck proceeded to read from a recent Vanity Fair report that claimed Carlson’s departure from Fox was actually about the host’s “religious talk.”
According to the report, Murdoch was unhappy with a speech Carlson gave at the Heritage Foundation just days before Fox fired him.
In his fiery speech, Carlson spoke bluntly about the moral state of America, and what he described as an ongoing battle between “good” and “evil.”
But while Carlson’s speech could be considered more of a sermon, it was a dinner Murdoch had with his ex-fiancée and Carlson that many think might have been the final straw.
Getting back at the ex
Citing an anonymous source, Vanity Fair reported that Murdoch was put off by “Carlson’s messianism because it echoed the end-times worldview of Murdoch’s ex-fiancée Ann Lesley Smith.”
Smith had also reportedly called Carlson “a messenger from God.”
“Murdoch had seen Carlson and Smith discuss religion firsthand,” the source told Vanity Fair. “In late March, Carlson had dinner at Murdoch’s Bel Air vineyard with Murdoch and Smith… During dinner, Smith pulled out a Bible and started reading passages from the Book of Exodus.”
It was just days later that Murdoch broke off their engagement, and just weeks after that, Carlson was no longer with the network.
“By taking Carlson off the air, Murdoch was also taking away his ex’s favorite show,” stated Vanity Fair.
That decision could end up being one of the more expensive breakup paybacks of all-time.
