The GOP is looking to sure up this swing state ahead of 2024 with one strategic move

The Republican Party is looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2022 Midterm election cycle.

In 2024, every House seat, one-third of the Senate, and the White House will be up for grabs.

And now Republicans are trying to increase their odds in this must-win purple state.

Presidential Party Conventions – when done right – can give a candidate a boost in the polls and help build an area ground-game in the process.

With that in mind, the Grand Old Party decided to put its 2024 convention in one of the most competitive battleground states.

Every Presidential election year, each party puts on a grand show for their respective political conventions.

The conventions last for days and receive nearly endless media coverage.

They’re typically worth a few points of a bounce in the polls.

Democrats and Republicans frequently target swing states for their conventions, in the hopes that the excitement – and ability to use the convention to build a local ground game – will carry over and deliver the battleground in the general election.

However, convention city selection has mixed results for each party.

Since the year 2000, there have been six conventions for each party – with the GOP splitting three wins and three losses, and the Democrats slightly better with four wins and two losses.

In 2020, the conventions felt a bit different, with COVID forcing much of the festivities to be held via zoom and pre-recorded videos.

The Republican National Committee selected Charlotte, North Carolina for their party, and Donald Trump did deliver in the Tar Heel State.

Meanwhile, Democrat’s picked Milwaukee, Wisconsin to unveil Joe Biden as their nominee.

After days of extra counting, America’s Dairyland was eventually painted blue and put Biden over the top on his way to the White House.

In 2024, the GOP will be looking to flip the script.

The RNC has announced Milwaukee will once again hold a Presidential convention, making it two cycles in a row.

But this time, it’ll be Republicans painting the town red in Cream City.

And Republican voters now know exactly when to book their tickets for the Badger State.

The RNC has revealed it has scheduled its next convention for Monday, July 15 through Thursday, July 18.

Milwaukee businesses are excited about all the added customers the convention will bring to the city.

But for the GOP, the where and when is about winning in 2024.

The selection of Wisconsin as a host state for the convention comes with the added bonus of putting radical Democrat Senator Tammy Baldwin in a difficult position.

Baldwin will likely face tough competition to keep her seat when she’s up for re-election in 2024.

Baldwin rode Barack Obama’s coattails into office in 2012, defeating former Badger State Governor Tommy Thompson by 5.5-points.

She won reelection easily during the light blue wave of 2018.

However, with Wisconsin’s gradual move to the Right, and President Biden’s underwater-approval ratings in the state, Baldwin could be vulnerable in 2024 – especially if she faces a big name, like former Governor Scott Walker or former Congressman, and favorite of former President Trump, Sean Duffy.

Now, the RNC and GOP in general are hoping Milwaukee can be as lucky for them in 2024 as it was for Biden and the Democrats in 2020.

Is Milwaukee a good choice for the GOP convention in 2024?
