Ted Cruz has a proposal that he says will restore energy independence in the United States

Joe Biden has unleashed the largest attack on American energy in the nation’s history.

His administration has forced fuel prices to skyrocket and it’s destroying our country’s energy sector.

But now, Ted Cruz is putting forward legislation to bring energy independence back to the United States.

The mad rush to turn America “green” is harming both hard working American taxpayers, and the entire energy sector, especially small and mid-sized energy companies.

Ted Cruz takes on the fight for American energy independence

Now However some Republicans have decided to fight back.

Senator Ted Cruz is one of those.

He has had enough of the Democrats’ attack on the American energy sector.

It’s been having a severely negative impact on American buying power and is leading to deterioration of the American dream for millions.

That’s why Cruz has announced new legislation that he says could make America energy secure again.

His proposal involves three bills, one of them a new proposal and the other two bills that have previously been introduced.

The new legislation is called the Energy Freedom Act (EFA) of 2023 and Cruz says it will improve the process for approval on new federal permits for energy projects and pipelines.

It also mandates that the government provide new oil and gas leases for onshore and offshore drilling.

EFA aims to make America less dependent on Communist China

The EFA would also make it more difficult for companies to import minerals required by Biden’s new green energy infrastructure.

This would make America less dependent on Communist China when creating new solar, wind, and geothermal projects.

It would also force the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the Department of Energy to review any permit seeking to export liquefied natural gas.

This process has been purposefully delayed under the Biden administration and Cruz wants to see any pending permits to be approved.

One of the more important parts of the bill is the FERC would be required to approve any permits for interstate natural gas commerce and it would make it illegal for them to reject any natural gas pipelines that meet standards of safety.

Cruz says plan will bring in billions and “won’t cost taxpayers a dime”

Cruz lamented the condition of the US energy sector in a statement on his website.

He says that Biden has created a situation that sees “American families struggling with record-high gasoline and home heating prices…”

The Texas Senator says that the EFA “won’t cost taxpayers a dime, but it will provide the United States with billions in revenue in the coming years by expediting permitting, leasing, safe new pipelines, and exports” adding that this will provide “much needed regulatory certainty.”

Cruz promises to “put a stop to the Biden administration’s sabotage of the American energy industry” and urged his fellow lawmakers to vote on the bill “without delay.”

The bill came alongside the reintroduction of two other bills focused on new energy permits.

Cruz says permitting process needs to be improved

The Federal Permitting Modernization Act (FAST Act) would force agencies to disclose new permit requests and make the timelines on approval requests public via the Federal Registrar.

They would also be expected to publish all environmental studies and allow the public 60 days for comment.

The 90-Day Review Act would take the current approval timeline on major infrastructure projects from 150 days down to 90 days. This would include public works projects like interstate highways and public transit projects.

Cruz says he seeks to make infrastructure projects more “timely and predictable” by reducing the “excessive government red tape.”

These proposals are common sense approaches to the Biden-created energy crisis.

Now it’s time for other Republicans to show up and step up for the American people.
