Since first being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012, Ted Cruz hasn’t made many friends in the political world.
That is, in part, due to his inclination to say what others are thinking but unwilling to say out loud.
And now Cruz is calling out this top Biden official for blatant discrimination.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion
For years, students were graduating with degrees in women’s studies and other various Social Justice Snowflake majors, with nowhere to apply those degrees after college.
So, the Left created an “industry” designed specifically for woke radicals – and giant corporations and the U.S. government were quick to adopt it.
The field is “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion,” and it’s meant to root out systemic racism, sexism, and all-around bigotry.
Of course, the Biden administration was sure to install the nonsense position of Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at the White House.
Gina Abercrombie-Winstanley is the lucky paycheck collector manning the spot.
Straight, white, Christian men need not apply
Meanwhile, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas got his hands on an email from the State Department.
The email basically rules out straight, white, Christian men from employment opportunities within the department.
According to the email, the edict is part of the department’s “Equity Action Plan.”
However, Sen. Cruz sees it as “nothing more than brazen discrimination.”
Cruz brought up the email while questioning Abercrombie-Winstanley in a Senate hearing.
It would make sense that President Joe Biden’s Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer would have some say over the State Department’s Equity Action Plan.
However, Abercrombie-Winstanley was more interested in playing a game of “See No Evil, Hear No Evil.”
Cruz vs. Abercrombie-Winstanley
“Did you clear this guidance?” Cruz asked during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on “diversity, equity, and inclusion.”
“I’ve never seen that before,” Abercrombie-Winstanley replied.
“So, you didn’t know it had been sent,” Cruz repeated.
“This is the first time I’m seeing it, sir,” she said.
“So, do you believe the senior State Department official who sent this email was lying?” he asked.
“Senator, I can’t comment. I don’t know who that’s from,” the White House’s chief diversity officer said. “I’ve never seen it before.”
“So, you’re the chief diversity officer and you are arguing you are certain discrimination is not happening at the State Department, is that right,” Cruz asked looking for clarification. “Is that what you’re testifying? It’s what you just said.”
In an effort to justify her job, Abercrombie-Winstanley said the State Department is not intentionally breaking the law, however, there are people at the agency who “discriminate,” “harass,” and “bully” – therefore leading to the creation of programs to hold individuals practicing discriminatory actions accountable.
“What would you say you do around here?” Cruz asked in an Office Space moment. “What is your job if not to stop discrimination, and unfortunately, I believe your job, in practice, is encouraging this discrimination. This is a manifestation . . . is it good for the State Department and good for the United States government to be actively discriminating based on disability, based on race, based on being a straight white man, or based on not being the right religion, is that good or bad?”
“Indeed, and so I would say comments do not at all say it is indeed happening,” Abercrombie-Winstanley.
But as the Texas Senator pointed out, according to the email it is indeed happening – and it is indeed blatant discrimination against straight, white, Christian men.
