Ron DeSantis just sent teachers unions running for cover with his Freedom Blueprint

Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida is no stranger to making powerful enemies on the Left.

But he may have just met his most powerful opponent yet.

That’s because America’s Governor just sent a loud and clear message to government-sector, fat cat union bosses with his Freedom Blueprint.

Big DeSantis Energy

Florida’s Republican Governor, Ron DeSantis, is no doubt the fastest rising star in the Grand Old Party.

Back in 2018, DeSantis barely escaped that election night as a winner.

Only about 32,500 votes – or 0.4-points – separated DeSantis from his radical-leftist Democrat opponent, Andrew Gillum – who has since been indicted on federal crimes.

Since then, DeSantis has governed to the right of perhaps every other Governor in the country.

Conventional political wisdom would suggest, doing so in a purple state would make DeSantis vulnerable in his re-election bid.

Democrats put up, possibly, their biggest name in the state to challenge DeSantis, in former Governor, Democrat-turned-Republican-turned-independent-turned-Democrat Charlie Crist.

However, what was once considered a potential Democrat pickup, turned out to be a landslide.

DeSantis destroyed Crist by 19.5-points – more than 1.5-million votes – quite the turnaround from 2018.

And he did so while being enemy number one – or at least 1B – from the corporate-controlled media.

DeSantis even had the three hosts of the Oscars mocking him on national television.

And unlike other candidates, DeSantis had coattails.

Republican Senator Marco Rubio was supposed to be in a competitive re-election contest against Democrat Rep. Val Demings.

Instead, Rubio cruised to re-election by about 16.5-points.

That is an incredibly rapid transition from purple state to one of the reddest states in the country in just four-short years – and DeSantis did so with conservative-populist governing.

Four Republicans also flipped House seats in the Sunshine State – largely thanks to DeSantis fighting for the best possible lines in the redistricting process.

DeSantis takes on union boss fat cats

With DeSantis’ bold policies, tough talk and winning record, more and more Republicans are jumping on his bandwagon and many are hoping he makes a bid for the White House in 2024.

Meanwhile, America’s Governor is using his well-earned platform to provide a blueprint for other red state Governors to follow.

DeSantis just unveiled his “Freedom Blueprint.”

Part of the Freedom Blueprint is paycheck protection.

This would stop the practice of automatic dues deductions from employees in government unions – like teachers.

“First of all, you totally, you do not have to join the teachers union,” DeSantis said. “But if you do, the government, we don’t want to play a role in deducting anybody’s money so you write every month for the dues and you do it that way.”

Having to write a check for their union dues would show employees exactly how much their union membership is costing them, and give teachers and other workers more choice in the workplace.

DeSantis also pointed out how much of the dues provided by teachers go to elect woke school board members.

In the 2022 Midterms, the Sunshine State Governor endorsed an unprecedented 30 school board candidates – 24 of those candidates claimed victory on election day.

America’s education Governor

DeSantis had paid close attention to approving Florida education and protecting parental rights in his time as Governor.

He spearheaded the Parental Choice in Education Act into law this past February.

The bill barred any teaching of sexually mature subjects to students in kindergarten through third grade.

It also had protections for parents, forcing schools to alert them in cases such as pregnancy or gender identity changes.

The Left erroneously called it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, without the phrase making a single appearance in the text of the legislation.

DeSantis also recently increased teacher pay based on merit and launched an initiative to recruit teachers with real word experience in the subjects they’re teaching, including veteran and first responders.

His moves on the educational front earned Florida the number one spot in the inaugural Heritage Foundation’s report card on education freedom this year.
