Having your fifteen minutes of fame can really make or break some folks’ future.
And one Jeopardy! contestant is learning the hard way that he may not be cut out for all the pressure that comes with success on the game show.
Rising Jeopardy! champion is completely losing it over one thing online fans are comparing him too.
Some people can’t take the publicity
The spotlight that is put on you while on television can really devastate your life.
Just look at some of the biggest stars who have really struggled in their lives because of fame.
Who can forget the fall from grace of Michael Jackson that was the result of mixing his mental illness with a very successful career.
Jackson went from being an average kid to a disgraced and ridiculed pop star with bad story after bad story being reported about him before and after his death.
Many blame his fall from stardom because of all the overbearing publicity he got throughout his career.
And look at Tom Cruise who many were worried about as there was a point in time when people knew he was going absolutely insane, even though he’s seemingly gotten his life on track.
Then you have Bruce Jenner who was thrust into years’ worth of reality television with the Kardashians.
The pressure was so hard on Bruce he ended up becoming Caitlyn.
Knives out against one common man and Jeopardy champion
Well the pressure of becoming a television star is about to also break Jeopardy contestant Brian Henegar.
Henegar has become an instant fan favorite for many on Jeopardy! as he comes from a modest and unexpecting background.
The current Jeopardy! champion isn’t a scientist or professor, he’s just your average guest services agent from LaFollette, Tennessee.
The multi-time winner of the beloved American game show is being brutally attacked, and has even been compared to Adolf Hitler by some ruthless viewers from social media.
And Henegar went onto Twitter to confirm that the pressure is getting to him, so he will be taking a break from social media where he is getting bombarded by the haters.
“Right now I’m feeling every emotion under the sun reliving my Jeopardy! Appearance,” Henegar tweeted. “And I’m seeing what a bunch of Jerks on Twitter are doing because all they can focus on [are] my looks… So I’m going to be leaving Twitter for a while, see you soon.
When one person on Twitter suggest that he just ignore the comparisons Henegar replied, “I would love to, but there are literally dozens of them comparing my appearance to one of the most evil human beings to ever defile the Earth… and it’s a lot when I’m already on such an emotional high from winning.”
You can’t blame the guy for trying to take some time off of social media when he is getting dragged through the mud.
Some people are just too mean as they sit behind a keyboard willing to type anything up without threat of repercussions.
Hopefully, Henegar can continue to make a splash on Jeopardy! as working class America cheers him on against the academic elitists we always see on the game show.
