Any time a member of the British Royal family gets married it turns into a media madhouse.
But even with so much attention the general public is often kept in the dark about what is really going on behind the scenes.
And now Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding photographer just revealed the truth about their marriage.
Royal photographer exposes Prince Harry and Meghan
Arthur Edwards has been photographing the royal family since 1977.
However, the famed photographer said he had a terrible time when doing his job at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in 2018.
The wedding was held at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, but according to Edwards, it was met with difficulties.
Edwards has finally spoken out about working the event in a new interview with The Sun, noting that Harry made his job more difficult that day.
“The day was a miserable day,” Edwards recalled. “I can tell you now, it was the worst royal engagement I ever did – royal wedding I ever did. Because Harry was determined to keep the newspapers away from it as much as possible.”
“Everything was done on long lenses,” he added. “I had [an] 800-millimeter lens photographing the guests arriving. The photographers they engaged for the job [were] 5 feet away. It was just hopeless.”
The photographer noted that he was especially frustrated when he had the chance to snap photos of the newlyweds in their carriage while greeting the crowds, but he couldn’t get a good angle.
“And then the carriage shot where they went past me in the carriage, they looked the other way. So for me, it was a disaster,” he said bluntly.
The interviewer asked, “Was that deliberate? You were made to feel unwelcome?”
“I felt so. It wasn’t just me. It was the whole of the British press, in many ways, were badly treated,” Edwards replied.
Just two years after the 2018 wedding, Harry and Meghan stepped down from their official roles within the royal family, and moved to Montecito, California.
Later, they slammed the British press in their 2022 Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan, claiming there was “unconscious bias” regarding race within Buckingham Palace.
Harry has “burnt his bridges”
Now that Prince Harry and his wife have moved to America, many British natives feel the pair abandoned their country.
Edwards previously told The Sun that he thought Harry “was someone really special,” and that he was “quite sad” about him leaving Britain, noting that becoming a U.S. resident means he “probably burnt his bridges.”
“But it seems inevitable, his two kids are American, his wife is American, he lives there, but it is a sad occasion,” he added.
“You could say good riddance because he’s been nothing but a thorn in their side, but he is the prodigal son, and the prodigal son did return so I’ll keep my fingers crossed,” he concluded.
Prince Harry has long been critical of the media, particularly their treatment of his mother, Princess Diana, who lost her life in an August 1997 car crash that allegedly resulted from paparazzi chasing her vehicle.
