Pete Buttigieg has been the face of the Biden regime’s failed response to the East Palestine, Ohio train derailment.
His failures have been put on full display for the world to see.
And now Newt Gingrich just uttered one sentence that sent a chill down Pete Buttigieg’s spine.
In a recent op-ed, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (R-GA) called on the Biden regime to fire its hapless Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
Gingrich lambasted Buttigieg for his job performance, which by any objective standard can only be considered a complete and utter failure.
In full detail, Gingrich laid out every low-light of Buttigieg’s two-year stint in a government position for which he is woefully underqualified.
“President Joe Biden must fire Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg,” Gingrich wrote. “From the Southwest Airlines computer meltdown, to the Federal Aviation Administration’s unprecedented collapse of air travel (the first time since 9/11 that every plane was grounded), to the total failure to respond to the humanitarian crisis caused by the Norfolk Southern Rail disaster in East Palestine, Ohio, Buttigieg has proven he is incapable of doing the job.”
It’s certainly hard to disagree with that tough assessment.
But as if his incompetence wasn’t bad enough, the fact that some of these disasters could have been prevented simply adds insult to injury.
What it all boils down to is a question of priorities for the Biden regime.
“Our government is playing with our lives as it prefers diversity, equity, and inclusion over ensuring the best qualified employees are hired on the basis of racially and gender-blind competitive tests and experience,” Victor Davis Hanson said.
The woke politics of the Biden regime are what allowed the Mayor of South Bend, Indiana to head the most complex transportation system in the world.
The Biden regime’s obsession with identity politics isn’t meeting the demands of the real world.
Gingrich has been joined in calling for Buttigieg’s ouster by Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL).
“Buttigieg demonstrates a gross level of incompetence and apathy and has been completely absent during major transportation disruptions,” Rubio said. “First Secretary Pete was m.i.a. on the derailment. Then he lies to media claiming my 2021 letter calling for more track inspections was a letter calling for deregulation. He is an incompetent who is focused solely on his fantasies about his political future & needs to be fired.”

Obstinate refusal to consider opposing points of view has been a hallmark of the Biden regime to date, but it’s abundantly clear that a new direction is needed.
“The Secretary of Transportation is a good place to start bringing accountability for failure,” Gingrich concluded. “Fire Buttigieg now!”
