Democrats are starting to panic about November’s Midterm elections.
Their plan to keep control of Congress is unraveling.
And Nancy Pelosi instantly regretted one statement during this disastrous interview.
Rough fall for Democrats
Democrats thought they had the upper hand going into November’s Midterm elections.
After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in the Dobbs decision, control of abortion was sent back to state legislatures.
Obviously, Democrats want to talk about anything other than their catastrophic failures running the country since Joe Biden occupied the White House.
So the party has been laser-focused on abortion, putting the issue front and center for campaigns around the country.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) recently went on MSNBC to reassure nervous Democrats about her party’s chances this November.
Lies, damn lies, and statistics
While Joe Biden’s approval rating is deeply underwater in key battleground states and House districts, Pelosi claimed he’s done a “spectacular job.”
“[Biden’s] done a spectacular job, he’s had a better two years than most Presidents you can name, certainly in the recent generations,” Pelosi said.
MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell wondered why Democrats’ obsession with abortion wasn’t winning over voters as their polling plunges ahead of the Midterm elections.
Polling consistently shows that voters’ top concerns are inflation and the economy.
Mitchell cited a recent poll from The New York Times that found independent women voters are far more concerned about the disastrous Biden economy than abortion.
“I dismiss that,” Pelosi said, dismissing the concerns of Americans struggling to make ends meet in the Biden economy.
“I can tell you that women’s concerns about their freedom are very, very much still very significant in terms of how they will vote,” Pelosi continued. “In fact, 80% of people who care about a woman’s right to choose say they will – it will determine who they vote for.”
Democrats are spending themselves into oblivion
Democrats have spent $100 million and counting to make abortion the central focus of their campaigns for the midterm elections.
From President Joe Biden on down, Democrats are embracing the extremist position of abortion any time, for any reason until the moment of birth and sometime after.
This radical position puts them out of step with most Americans – 80% oppose unrestricted abortion access until birth – and in line with countries like North Korea and communist China.
As former President Bill Clinton’s top political advisor James Carville said, “It’s the economy, stupid.”
Pelosi and Democrats are ignoring kitchen tables to push their extremist position on abortion that’s wildly out of touch with the majority of the country.
Voters are suffering in a Biden economy that’s headed into a major recession and Nancy Pelosi is ignoring their suffering.
Democrats thought they could pin their Midterm election hopes on abortion but voters are poised to give them a brutal reality check this November.
