Mitch McConnell was forced to make one shocking announcement after selling out conservatives on gun control

It seems RINOs will never learn.

Time after time they sell out their own base to cut deals with the Left and get nothing in return.

Now Mitch McConnell is forced to make one shocking announcement after selling out conservatives on gun control.

There is a good reason the Republican Party is known as the “Stupid Party.”

Year after year GOP leadership decides to sell out its own base in the bizarre hope that somehow their sellouts and compromises on principle will help them.

Of course, nothing could be further from the truth.

The Left will never support the GOP, and all selling out does is cause their base to stay home on election day.

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory

That’s why Republicans are experts at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Who can forget Mitch McConnell’s famous “root and branch” speech where he promised that if Republicans took back Congress, they would rip out Obamacare “root and branch” and repeal it completely.

Of course, once back in charge the GOP did no such thing, and it was RINOs who refused to back efforts to repeal the unpopular Obamacare.

They took a very popular issue for their base and threw it away.

You would think they might learn from their past mistakes.

Especially when political talking heads always talk about just how smart and shrewd McConnell is.

Well, this past year shows the GOP has learned nothing, and once again Mitch McConnell is in the sellout spotlight.

McConnell makes grim prediction about GOP Senate prospects

This year McConnell led a group of RINOs in selling out their base on gun rights by supporting the unconstitutional Biden gun ban bill.

But to make matters worse, McConnell cut a deal with Schumer on the CHIPs bill and got played on the massive spending bill.

All in all, it was a very bad year for Republicans and their leader, Mitch McConnell.

Which is now leading McConnell to make some dire predictions about the upcoming November elections.

While he still believes the GOP will take the House, he thinks Republicans have little chance of taking back the Senate in November.

Of course, the Kentucky Senator, never one to accept blame for his mistakes, is instead citing “candidate quality” as a factor for his dire prediction.

The Senator made his prediction at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce luncheon in what many believe is the beginning of his effort to scale back GOP hopes of a “red tidal wave” this year.

“I think there’s probably a greater likelihood the House flips than the Senate,” McConnell said. “Senate races are just different, they’re statewide. Candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome.”

Sticking to principles just as important as candidate quality

What McConnell, and most RINOs, will never learn it seems, is that by selling out their principles they run the risk of losing their base, and thus losing elections.

They seem to think that conservative activists who are committed to philosophy and issues, will just vote for the GOP no matter how bad they get.

They refuse to understand that it is the issues that motivate these voters, not individual candidates, and certainly not the party itself.

Unless McConnell and his RINOs start to understand this they will just go the way of Liz Cheney.
