The results are in and Liz Cheney was completely humiliated in her primary for Wyoming’s at-large House seat.
It wasn’t even close, with Cheney only mustering about 29% of the total vote.
Despite this, Cheney announced some very ambitious political plans after her humiliating defeat.
Wyoming flat-out rejected Liz Cheney and the Never-Trumpers
Typically, incumbents have a major advantage in any given campaign.
The name recognition, the allegedly successful track record, and better funding makes it very difficult to unseat incumbents.
But the opposite was true in last Tuesday’s primary for Wyoming’s at-large House seat.
After making it her life mission to take down Donald Trump, Liz Cheney is now one of the most despised Republicans in America.
Even her own constituents, which make up the entire state of Wyoming, cannot stand her as evidenced by Cheney only getting 29% of the vote.
But though Cheney was completely trounced, she is not giving up yet.
During her concession speech, Liz Cheney made it abundantly clear that she has very ambitious political plans moving forward.
And clearly, these plans involve running for the highest office in the land, the Presidency.
When asked what her priorities are moving forward she claimed that she will finish her term and that “I will do whatever it takes to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office.”
Then, when asked about a potential 2024 Presidential run, she claimed that she would make an announcement in the coming months.
For any political expert, it is obvious that she is interested in running or she would have flat out denied any interest.
Of course, Donald Trump is the frontrunner for 2024 after losing in 2020, so Cheney will have quite the uphill battle.
Not only is she loathed by Republicans, but aside from her role in the January 6 Kangaroo Court, she claims to be a conservative, which repels the Left from actually supporting her.
Nobody likes Liz Cheney, and the sooner she realizes this, the better.
Why Wyoming rejected Liz Cheney so definitively
At the end of the day, Wyoming is a very conservative state that Donald Trump won easily both times.
The people of Wyoming love Trump, and this betrayal by Liz Cheney is not sitting well with them.
Liz Cheney has done very little to represent Wyoming and she seems way more interested in playing politics in Washington, D.C. than representing her state.
Most political analysts estimated that Liz Cheney would lose this race, but the margin by which she lost is very eye opening.
This primary ought to serve as a valuable lesson to so-called Republicans who want to go against the grain for media attention.
Thankfully, she will be out of Congress before too long, and if the balance of power shifts in the House, there is time to undo the damage she has done.
Her role in the January 6 “hearings” is disgraceful to say the least.
These hearings are not aimed at bringing justice to anybody, but rather serve as a show trial to the highest degree, void of Constitutional rights and due process.
