Kamala Harris is slowly starting to unveil her policy agenda.
Her strategy appears to be finding the most destructive failed policies from throughout human history and repackaging them as new ideas for today.
And now Kamala Harris is feeling the heat for trying to revive this Jimmy Carter disaster.
Kamala Harris proposes Soviet-style price controls
The cost of living crisis after forty-year highs in inflation and elevated interest rates has become one of the biggest issues this election.
A recent YouGov poll found that 77% of Americans think that inflation is a “very important” issue.
Americans are racking up record credit card debt – now over $1 TRILLION – and are struggling to make ends meet in the disastrous Biden-Harris economy.
Vice President Kamala Harris is doing a tightrope act now that she’s Democrats’ Presidential candidate.
She has to respond to high prices, but she can’t let anyone know that her tie-breaking votes in the Senate on President Joe Biden’s $2 trillion American Rescue Plan and “Inflation Reduction Act” literally helped make inflation worse.
And she can’t acknowledge that the regime she’s helped lead has failed to do anything about it.
So Kamala is taking a page out of Biden’s playbook by blaming “corporate price gouging” by companies that produce food and other grocery items for the high prices – even though all of those companies’ publicly available, Federal Trade Commission-mandated financial statements prove that’s not the case.
She announced that she would use the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and other government agencies to investigate anti-competitive practices and price fixing in the food and grocery industry.
The cost of groceries has surged by 21% under the Biden-Harris regime – the third largest increase at this point in a Presidential term since 1952.
A trip to the grocery store is a painful reminder of the rampant price increases while Kamala was Vice President.
The return of a failed Jimmy Carter policy
Kamala is proposing Soviet-style price controls that have never worked anywhere throughout human history – despite being tried many times – and will inevitably lead to shortages.
After the Arab oil embargo during the energy crisis in the 1970s, the United States used price controls on gasoline.

The result was long lines for gas and massive, nationwide shortages that nearly crippled the nation.
Artificially suppressing the price of a product will cause demand to surge, which inevitably causes shortages.
The grocery industry works on one of the slimmest profit margins of any business.
Imposing price controls will lead them to stop carrying products that don’t have more manageable profit margins after the inevitable shortages.
Kamala has avoided releasing policy proposals during her campaign and this is a reminder why.
The problems in the country are caused by the regime she serves in so she can’t come up with any realistic solutions without blaming herself.
Her price control proposal marked the rare occurrence that Democrats and her public relations team in the media criticized her.
Harvard University economics professor Jason Furman – who served as an economist in the Obama regime – hoped that her price gouging proposal was an empty campaign promise.
“This is not sensible policy, and I think the biggest hope is that it ends up being a lot of rhetoric and no reality,” Furman said. “There’s no upside here, and there is some downside.”
The Washington Post ran multiple opinion pieces slamming the idea.
One noted that if Kamala doesn’t want to get called a communist by former President Donald Trump, she shouldn’t propose price controls.
