Democrats are doing everything in their power to make this year’s elections about nothing more than abortion on-demand.
But for many Americans the Biden border disaster is front and center.
And Kamala Harris is down right giddy over this unprecedented taxpayer-funded handout for illegal aliens.
California Democrats are proposing a first-in-the-nation plan to make illegal aliens eligible for up to $150,000 in taxpayer-funded “zero down, no payment loans” that don’t actually have to be paid back.
Illegal aliens are at the top of voters’ list of concerns
The proposal comes even as illegal immigration has become a major topic in the Presidential election.
The measure is likely to pass the California Legislature where Democrats enjoy a supermajority.
It also is worth noting that California has the largest share of illegal aliens in the country.
And the main reason Democrats are pushing this proposal is so they can count on illegal aliens’ to vote for them this November.
California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom, a top surrogate for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, has so far declined to say whether he would sign the measure.
The bill would have to pass the legislature by the August 31 deadline.
Newsom will have to make a decision on the measure even while former President Donald Trump criticizes Kamala over the massive influx of illegals at the U.S.-Mexico border.
And his decision will come as Kamala claims to be moving to the right on the immigration issue.
In her acceptance speech at the Democrat National Convention, Kamala said the country can “live up to our proud heritage as a nation of immigrants, and reform our broken immigration system.”
While the California proposal allegedly targets all prospective homebuyers and not just illegal immigrants, it will be a huge political risk for Kamala.
Biden’s border crisis still a major liability for the Democrats
Should Newsom sign the bill into law it will provide even more talking points for Trump and Republicans, who are already successfully linking Kamala to the border crisis she helped create.
The mainstream media continues to try and cover up her involvement in the disaster at the border.
But the unfortunate fact for Kamala and Democrats is that she was named Biden’s Border Czar by Biden early in his Presidency.
The Trump campaign has already come out on the proposed bill with spokesperson Karoline Leavitt calling the bill “fundamentally unfair but typical Democrat policy.”
The Kamala campaign has so far refused to comment on the proposal.
In California, Republican lawmakers have also pushed back against the bill.
California Republican state Assemblyman Joe Patterson, who represents a largely suburban district north of Sacramento, said at a committee hearing that he “just can’t get behind using our limited dollars for people who are in this country undocumented.”
The proposed loan program, named the California Dream for All by Democrats, would provide 20 percent in down payment assistance, up to $150,000.
Expect immigration to continue to be a major issue in the upcoming elections and if Newsom does sign this bill into law expect the Trump campaign to use it against Kamala.
