It was a senseless crime.
And the details are still coming out.
But that didn’t stop Joe Biden and the Democrats from politicizing within hours of it happening.
Biden renews call for assaults weapons ban after shooting at Colorado Springs gay bar
The deadly shooting that saw five people murdered and more than a dozen injured occurred in the early Sunday morning hours at a bar called Club Q in Colorado Springs, Colorado, a state that has recently passed virtually every gun control law imaginable.
According to police reports, the shooting stopped after bar patrons subdued the shooter.
The shooter reportedly was arrested a year and a half before the shooting for threatening to kill his mother with a homemade bomb, which forced neighbors to be evacuated “while the bomb squad and crisis negotiators talked him into surrendering,” according to an AP report.
While it seems this was a case where the state failed to prosecute a dangerous person and thus remove the danger from society, Joe Biden and gun control advocates started banging the drums for more gun control less than 24 hours after the incident.
Gun control advocates apparently fail to see the irony of blaming the state’s “Red Flag” law not being used, when it is just yet another example proving that “Red Flag” laws are useless against criminals and a danger to law-abiding citizens.
Look no further than recent shootings in the Chicago suburbs and Buffalo, New York, two more states with “Red Flag” laws that did nothing to stop murderers there.
But facts are difficult for Democrats like Joe Biden who released a statement on November 20, saying “we need to enact an assault weapons ban.”
More gun control is always the answer for Democrats
It doesn’t matter that Democrats have had complete control of Colorado for years and have passed numerous anti-gun measures including magazine bans, universal background checks, “Red Flag” gun confiscation orders, so-called “safe storage,” and allows municipalities to pass their own local gun ordinances such as the City of Boulder (and others) has used to ban so-called “assault weapons.”
For Democrats, and sadly far too many Republicans, gun control is always the right answer for them when tragedy strikes.
How many of these stories do we read where there was an opportunity for a would-be shooter to be arrested and prosecuted for other crimes before they commit something far more heinous?
Of course, when you have Democrats like newly-elected Pennsylvania U.S. Senator John Fetterman calling for the early release of convicted murderers and Democrat cities from New York City to Phoenix releasing violent criminals to the streets, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that these policies would lead to greater and more violent crime.
Liberals in both parties are destroying this nation with their abhorrent policies, but continue to promise to shepherd in peace and tranquility if we would just pass more gun control, all while they are releasing violent criminals to the general populace.
Sadly, Republicans already gave Joe Biden a big win on gun control after Uvalde, when Texas U.S. Senator John Cornyn worked with Democrats to federally fund state “Red Flag” laws, so we shouldn’t be surprised to see Republicans work on caving again.
And now that the “Red Wave” was clearly a myth, Democrats will be emboldened to pass gun control in states like Minnesota and Michigan where they just took complete control for the first time in decades.
It’s time for pro-gun Americans to prepare for the fight ahead as Joe Biden and his cronies across the country are gearing up for an assault on our Second Amendment rights.
But it’ll be interesting to see what happens as more and more gun control measures are being called into question Constitutionally in the wake of the Bruen decision that changed the ballgame on the gun control debate.
But is the U.S. Supreme Court bold enough to shoot down an assault weapons ban?
We may soon find out.
