Joe Biden says he had a gay “epiphany” watching two men kiss in high school

Most people forget Joe Biden’s history as a segregationist.

And he has tried to rewrite history on his views on everything from race relations to gay marriage.

Now Joe Biden says he had a gay “epiphany” watching two men kiss in high school.

President Joe Biden has reinvented himself multiple times.

Most people forget that Biden has never been guided by philosophy or principle, but rather, a desire for power.

An epiphany on gay marriage

Anyone who watches old clips of President Biden, or takes a peak at his Senate voting record, will see that for most of his career, he pretended to be a “conservative” Blue Dog Democrat.

Biden supported segregation, a balanced budget amendment, and the Defense of Marriage Act.

In fact, as late as 2008, President Biden was a staunch opponent of gay marriage, and his statements and votes proved it.

But Biden doesn’t want Americans to know who he was not too long ago.

In fact, the often-confused President is now claiming he has supported gay marriage since the late ’50s.

This is a claim that is clearly contradicted by his vocal support of the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act, which sought to define marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

But during a recent interview with actor Kal Penn, President Biden claimed that he changed his mind on the issue after watching two men kiss in front of his high school back in 1959.

“I can remember exactly when my epiphany [on supporting gay marriage] was,” Biden told Penn. “I was a senior in high school. And my dad was dropping me off, and I remember I was about to get out of the car, and I looked to my right and two well-dressed men in suits kissed each other.”

While Biden’s sappy story about watching two men in suits kiss outside his high school is certainly amusing, it almost certainly didn’t happen.

Because the idea it led him to some epiphany to begin supporting gay marriage is contradicted by the facts.

Marriage is between one man and one woman

In 1996 then-Senator Biden voted in support of the Defense of Marriage Act, which legally defined marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

Biden is also on record opposing gay marriage as late as the 2008 election, as was both former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Hillary Clinton.

During a Vice Presidential debate that year, Biden openly stated his opposition to gay marriage.

President Biden even went on to say he and his Republican opponent, Sarah Palin, “really don’t have a difference” when it came to the issue.

But Biden has never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

In fact, in 1988, Biden was forced to drop out of the Presidential race after he was caught plagiarizing speeches.

But that wasn’t even the worst part of that year for the Delaware Senator.

Investigations showed that he had been plagiarizing since his college days, and some even suggested that the only way he was able to get through his undergraduate degree and graduate from law school was through serial plagiarism.

And Joe Biden has most recently been touting his decades-long support of civil rights, and opposition to segregation, but once again the facts, and his own statements and votes prove the lie.
