Environmental extremists have gone completely off the rails.
Nothing seems to satiate these eco-terrorists who will do anything to make headlines.
And now Jerome Powell flew off the handle after these environmental extremists made one move the ruling class elitist didn’t appreciate.
Environmental extremists aren’t making any friends
All across the world in recent years, radical climate protestors have made headlines for their extreme actions.
Some of these actions include dumping paint on priceless paintings, interrupting tennis matches, and blocking busy roadways.
On Thursday, environmental extremists took things up a notch after infiltrating an event hosted by the International Monetary Fund.
Headlining the event was Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, who began his speech by claiming the unelected, ruling class elite bureaucrats who make up “the Federal Open Market Committee [are] committed to achieving a stance of monetary policy that is sufficiently restrictive to bring inflation down to two percent over time. We are not confident that we have achieved such a stance.”
That is when a group of environmental extremists busted in and began shouting “end fossil finance” before security dragged them out.
As security dragged them out, Powell thanked the security guards, and said “just close the f**king door. Close the door.”
This is the second time in the last month that Powell has been ambushed in such a fashion – the other came when he was escorted off the stage at a meeting with the New York Economic club in October.
Environmental extremists loath Powell because he has repeatedly claimed that he does not believe it is within his authority as Federal Reserve Chair to make or enforce radical climate policy – which is literally the only positive decision he’s made in his more than a decade with the Fed.
“Without explicit congressional legislation, it would be inappropriate for us to use our monetary policy or supervisory tools to promote a greener economy or to achieve other climate-based goals,” Powell said during a panel discussion hosted by Sweden’s central bank.
“We are not, and will not be, a ‘climate policymaker,’” he added.
These comments directly oppose the viewpoints of many environmental extremists who believe that every government institution’s top priority ought to be addressing what they deem to be a “climate emergency.”
Although these left-wing extremists conduct astonishing protests and create catchy slogans, legitimate, realistic policy goals are rarely offered up.
Climate extremists are not helping their cause
For environmental extremists, making headlines is a crucial part of their marketing program.
However, much like other popular woke extremist causes, these movements lack substance, and most supporters of these acts have no clue what they actually want.
Although they decry the use of fossil fuels, these protestors likely use fossil fuels on a daily basis, and are merely doing this to virtue signal to their other far-left comrades.
Whether it is environmental extremists, race rioters, or so-called feminists, the radical left has largely adopted shock tactics for their favored social justice causes that often lack any substance.
