Whenever a horrific mass shooting takes place Democrats immediately jump to their gun control talking points before the dust has any time to settle.

Instead of taking a wider look at the causes of these tragic shootings the Left is convinced that disarming law-abiding Americans is the only solution.

But jaws hit the floor after Bill Clinton makes this appalling comment.

Democrat’s assault on the 2nd Amendment is nothing new

In recent years, Democrats have ramped up their calls for gun control, with some even calling for an all-out repeal of the Second Amendment.

Many Democrats refuse to admit that the root cause of horrific mass shootings is way more complicated than the existence of inanimate objects, like firearms.

However, radical left-wing calls for gun control are nothing new, and many Americans forget that the United States banned assault rifles under the Clinton regime.

Experts believe that this policy did little to nothing to stop mass shootings, yet former President Bill Clinton is determined to attack conservatives and blame them for these awful crimes.

On MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Clinton explained what he believes needs to be done to reduce gun violence.

“One thing that is pretty clear is whatever we do, we need to do it more together,” Clinton said. “And I think we need to start talking across this divide.”

“It is not rational that we should have a dramatically higher death rate among school-aged children because of gun violence than any other country in the world,” he continued.

But what Bill Clinton said next sent shockwaves across the nation.

“And you know, a lot of people get mad about these thoughts and prayers,” Clinton added. “But if you believe that you have to — if you believe you are compelled to let kids die in order to keep your freedoms, that’s sort of the way this debate is.”

Bill Clinton once again proved how radical he really is

Although Clinton started his MSNBC interview with an olive branch, he ended it with a horrific assault on law-abiding gun owners.

Additionally, the former President offered no concrete examples of policies that he believes would stop mass shootings in America.

During his Presidency, assault weapons were banned, which failed to make any meaningful difference in gun-related crimes.

In 2004, the Department of Justice’s National Institute of Justice (NIJ) released a report that analyzed the effect Clinton’s assault weapons ban had on mass shootings.

The Department of Justice could not find any correlation between the number of mass shootings and Clinton’s assault weapons ban.

Following this report, the author of the report, Christopher Koper, admitted that the government agency “cannot clearly credit the ban with any of the nation’s recent drop in gun violence,” and that “there has been no discernible reduction in the lethality and injuriousness of gun violence.”

“The ban’s effects on gun violence are likely to be small at best and perhaps too small for reliable measurement,” he added.
