The woke left-wing outrage mob thought they could “cancel” country music star Jason Aldean.
They were hit with a nasty surprise they never saw coming.
And Jason Aldean got the last laugh on the woke left-wing mob with this epic victory they never saw coming.
Country music star Jason Aldean’s new music video for his hit song Try That in a Small Town caused the woke left-wing outrage mob to meltdown.
The song is a tribute to traditional small town values, and the video features news footage of the violent Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots of the summer of 2020.
The woke mob manufactured controversy by falsely claiming that the song was “racist” and promoted “violence,” putting him squarely in the crosshairs of so-called “cancel culture”.
Country Music Television (CMT) folded like a cheap suit under pressure and banned Aldean’s video from its airwaves.
It appeared that Aldean was on the verge of becoming the latest cancel culture victim.
The five-time Grammy Award nominee refused to back down in the face of intense pressure over his song.
At a concert in Cincinnati, Aldean ripped so-called “cancel culture,” and said country music fans could see through what was happening to him.
“So somebody asked me, ‘Hey man, you think you’re going to play this song tonight?’” Aldean told the sold-out crowd. “The answer was simple. The people have spoken and you guys spoke very, very loudly this week.”
His fans and other conservative celebrities rallied around him after the woke left-wing outrage mob’s absurd cancel campaign against him.
Now, Aldean is getting the last laugh on the woke mob as Try That in a Small Town has become a smash hit.
The country song’s audio and video streams skyrocketed by 999% over the past week, according to data from Luminate.
It went from 987,000 streams to 11.7 million after the controversy broke out, while sales of the song soared from 1,000 the week before CMT pulled the video to 228,000.
The video had roughly 350,000 views on YouTube when it was taken off of the station’s rotation, and has now racked up over 16 million after it was censored.
Trying to cancel Try That in a Small Town completely backfired on the woke mob.
The attention they created with the controversy was a massive boost to the song’s popularity.
The song was first released in May, and lingered in obscurity for months before the woke left-wing outrage mob inadvertently raised its profile.
The song’s success after the controversy landed it at number two on Billboard’s Hot 100 all-genre chart, and took the top spot on Billboard’s country chart.
Try That in a Small Town is also now the highest-charting single of Aldean’s career, beating 2011’s Dirt Road Anthem, which peaked at number seven.
The song has zoomed past some of the biggest country music hits on the Hot 100, including Morgan Wallen’s Last Night and Luke Combs’ Fast Car.
Jason Aldean managed to survive vicious attacks by the woke mob, and came out on top.
