GOP officials are furious after Zuckerberg admitted to election meddling

America has been waiting for the fall of the Big Tech oligarchs.

The saying goes, “the bigger they are, the harder they fall.”

And now GOP officials were furious after Zuckerberg admitted to election meddling.

Zuckerberg dropped a bombshell in his latest interview

Mark Zuckerberg has already been under the microscope in the eyes of many conservatives.

Now it seems he gave the GOP a fresh new reason to be angry with Big Tech – and the FBI.

The Facebook CEO did an interview with Joe Rogan, a top liberal podcaster.

And responses to the interview have been filled with disdain.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy led the charge against Democrats on Twitter, “The FBI colluded with Big Tech to silence news stories weeks before the 2020 election in an attempt to control your access to information. Democrats in Congress have been intentionally ignoring the facts. When Republicans are back in charge, we will hold all of them accountable.”

Others followed McCarthy.

Ted Cruz declared it was, “complete corruption, plain and simple.”

Ron Johnson called for more inside information, “We need whistleblowers to come forward to expose the truth, hold people accountable and restore integrity and credibility to the FBI and federal agencies.”

Zuckberger’s admission was clear and simple

Zuckerberg joined the Joe Rogan Experience for an interview last week.

Rogan’s podcast garners one of the largest audiences in the world.

About halfway through the interview, Rogan asked the question everyone wanted answered.

Rogan asked the CEO, “How do you guys handle things when they’re a big news item that is controversial. Like there was a lot of attention on Twitter during the election because the Hunter Biden laptop story at the New York Post. So, you guys censored that as well?”

Zuckerberg immediately admitted, “.  . . the background here is that the FBI basically came to us—some folks on our team . . . ‘Hey, just so you know, like you should be on high alert. We thought there was a lot of Russian propaganda in 2016 election . . . basically there’s about to be some kind of dump that is similar to that . . . be vigilant.’”

If that wasn’t enough, he went on to explain how they accomplished it, “The ranking in newsfeed was a little bit less, so fewer people saw it than otherwise.”

Rogan asked for an approximate percentage and Zuckerberg responded, “I don’t know off the top of my head, but it’s meaningful.”

Zuckerberg might find himself in the hot seat

Rep. Andrew Clyde took it a step further than most demanding, “The Oversight Committee must immediately invite Mark Zuckerberg to testify – under oath – about the FBI’s attempts to circumvent the First Amendment. The American people deserve answers and accountability.”

This isn’t the first time that Zuckerberg has been brought into the 2020 election conversation.

Zuckerberg’s nonprofit, Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL), stands accused of pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into the election process at a local level.

Still many questions remain unanswered as to how involved the Facebook CEO was with CTCL and the 2020 election.

Now, we wait to see what will happen next in the GOP war on Big Tech.
