Despite Democrats’ claims the southern border is obviously not secure as hundreds of thousands illegally cross into the country each month.

Because President Joe Biden won’t enforce existing laws at the federal level, some Republican-led states have decided to do the job that the Commander-in-Chief refuses to do.

And now Glenn Youngkin sent Democrats flying off the handle after he made one bold move to help fix the Biden border crisis.

Serious leaders are taking serious action to combat the problem

Virginia Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin has announced that the Commonwealth is sending National Guard troops to the southern border in order to aid Texas with the ongoing Biden border crisis.

The decision means that the state is just the latest in several GOP-led states to send resources and troops, following similar action taken by Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis and Arkansas Republican Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

“The ongoing border crisis facing our nation has turned every state into a border state,” Youngkin wrote in a news release. “As leadership solutions at the federal level fall short, states are answering the call to secure our southern border, reduce the flow of fentanyl, combat human trafficking and address the humanitarian crisis.”

The directive Youngkin signed into law will support Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star, a program launched in 2021 to combat drug smuggling and human trafficking across the southern border.

“Given the intensive resource demands on Texas, the dangers posed by the fentanyl crisis, and impact of the border crisis on criminal activity to the Commonwealth, Virginia will do its part to assist the State of Texas’ efforts with the coordinated deployment of Virginia National Guard soldiers to assist in key aspects of their mission,” Youngkin continued. “We cannot allow Texas to take on the sole responsibility by themselves.”

Democrats just won’t listen

Democrats predictably cried foul.

“Youngkin for President has officially jumped the shark — our VA National Guard troops shouldn’t be used to further presidential ambitions much less fight a MAGA culture war in Texas of all places — Never thought I would see my state so compromised,” Virginia Democrat state Senator Scott Surovell tweeted.

The situation has gotten so bad that after years of dithering, President Biden finally made a show of an effort, albeit with little substance.

“For 90 days, these 1,500 military personnel will fill critical capability gaps, such as ground-based detection and monitoring, data entry, and warehouse support, until CBP can address these needs through contracted support,” Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said of Biden’s effort. “Military personnel will not directly participate in law enforcement activities.”

According to Governor DeSantis, despite claims from Biden Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas that illegal border crossings are decreasing, the situation at the southern border “is going to be really, really bad — potentially very shortly.”

What’s really needed is for the Biden regime to take border security seriously.

But that’s not happening anytime soon, so the actions on the part of Glenn Youngkin and other Republican Governors will no doubt be a welcome sight.
