They’ve proven time and time again that they’ll stop at nothing to destroy the Second Amendment.
And now freedom-loving Americans are sounding the alarm over Democrats’ “sneaky” new gun control scheme.
In a brazen assault on Second Amendment rights, Colorado Democrats are quietly advancing a series of draconian gun control measures.
These new regulations threaten to disarm law-abiding citizens and leave them defenseless against rising crime rates.
Despite Democrats’ media allies’ efforts to ignore the scheme, these bills, which mirror policies seen in other Democrat-controlled states like California, are poised to reshape the fundamental natural right to self-defense of every law-abiding Coloradans, and potentially set a dangerous precedent for the nation.
Leading the charge against this encroachment on constitutional freedoms is Ava Flanell, a firearms instructor in Colorado Springs, who warns of the dire implications of these overlooked legislative maneuvers.
“This should be making national news as it doesn’t just impact Colorado, but the nation as a whole,” Flanell exclaimed to Fox News.
“Lawmakers are using these outrageous bills as blueprints, changing the state names and implementing them across the country at a state level because they don’t have the votes to do it nationally,” he added.
At the heart of the Democrats’ gun control blitz is a bill aimed at banning so-called “assault weapons,” a term broadly applied to semi-automatic firearms like the AR-15.
Backed by a Democrat trifecta in the state’s Democrat-controlled General Assembly, this legislation threatens to strip law-abiding citizens of their ability to defend themselves and their families.
“The so-called ‘assault weapons’ ban bill is the most concerning, but they all have tragic consequences for law-abiding citizens,” Flanell declared to Fox News.
“They want to ban not only every kind of ‘scary’ gun like ARs and AKs, but also 80-90% of semi-automatic firearms popular today, including handguns and shotguns,” he added.
Antonia Okafor, founder of the nonprofit firearm education group EMPOWERED, echoed Flanell’s concerns, emphasizing how these measures disproportionately impact vulnerable groups like women.
“After seven years of training women, it is abundantly clear that women prefer an AR-15 for the defense of their home, their family and themselves,” Okafor asserted to Fox News. “The AR-15 allows women to have a larger firearm without having to physically absorb as much recoil as a smaller, handheld firearm. Simply put, a firearm levels the playing field.”
But the assault on gun rights doesn’t stop there.
Colorado Democrats are also pushing for an 11% tax on gun and ammunition sales, making firearms ownership a luxury reserved for the elites – as if their armed bodyguards aren’t enough.
Flanell condemned this move, highlighting its disproportionate impact on low-income Americans striving to exercise their constitutional rights.
“Most of these proposed bills in Colorado will hurt the underprivileged the most, ensuring only the wealthy can protect themselves or express their constitutionally protected right,” Flanell argued. “Firearms are not inexpensive, averaging a little more than $500 each. When you add an 11% tax to that and on ammunition, it adds up quickly.”
With gun control advocates framing their agenda as a solution to mass shootings and crime, Flanell urged Coloradans to see through the facade and stand up for their rights.
As Colorado teeters on the brink of adopting these oppressive measures, the fight for the Second Amendment has never been more critical.
