The FBI is completely out-of-control under the direction of Christopher Wray.
Major changes are on the way for the bureau.
And FBI Director Christopher Wray sat in stunned silence after Jim Jordan made one bold move.
The FBI is looking to build a sprawling new headquarters in either Maryland or Virginia that would be the largest office building in the world upon its construction.
Despite years of documented corruption, the FBI – with help from their allies in the ruling class elite – want to build a new headquarters that would be the largest office building in the world upon its construction.
In fact, if the Deep State gets their way, the new FBI headquarters would be – at a minimum – double the size of the Pentagon, which was the largest office building in the world until India’s Surat Diamond Bourse opened this week.
But Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) is throwing the FBI a curveball by proposing the new headquarters be built in Alabama to get the bureau out of the Washington, D.C. “Swamp.”
He’s threatening to block funding for the new headquarters unless it’s built outside of the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and northern Virginia area.
Moving the headquarters to existing FBI facilities in Huntsville, Alabama would help limit the influence politics have on the bureau.
Rep. Jordan wrote a letter to the House Appropriations Committee calling on the House to use the “power of the purse” to clean up the FBI.
“The Committee remains concerned about the politicization of federal law enforcement power emanating from FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C.,” Jordan wrote. “The centralization of FBI operations in the National Capitol Region has led to duplication of activity best left to the respective field offices, contributed to reduced autonomy in local field offices, and allowed improper political influence to taint law enforcement investigations and activity.”
Jordan said that language should be inserted in the 2024 appropriations bill to block funding for the FBI’s proposed headquarters near the nation’s capital and study a move to Huntsville.
“None of the funds made available in this Act may be used to build a new FBI headquarters. In addition, the FBI is directed to submit an operational plan within 90 days to move the FBI Headquarters out of the National Capital Region,” the Congressman added. “The operational plan should also consider the existing resources and infrastructure available at the FBI’s Redstone Arsenal Campus in Huntsville, AL.”
Moving the FBI out of the Washington, D.C. area could help depoliticize the agency after years of corruption and scandal.
The FBI bristled at the idea of moving to Alabama, citing “numerous operational reasons” to stay in the Washington, D.C. area, including proximity to the bureau’s Quantico training center in Virginia, and other federal agencies.
Jim Jordan and House Republicans are trying to use the House’s spending authority to rein in out-of-control federal agencies by hitting them where it hurts.
Moving the FBI’s headquarters more than 700 miles away from the Washington, D.C. “Swamp” would be the biggest shakeup for the bureau in decades.
