High temperatures across the nation in late July and early August are to be expected in most areas.
Unsurprisingly though, Democrats and their media allies are doing everything in their power to frame summer weather as something more dubious and salacious.
But even CNN’s audience couldn’t believe their ears after the network made a mind-boggling excuse for this Joe Biden failure.
The media will do just about anything to advance Democrats’ agenda
Temperatures have hit well into the 90s, and even the 100s, in many parts of America over the past few weeks, which is to be expected this time of year.
Nonetheless, Democrats and their media allies are doing everything in their power to sensationalize summer weather, and some of the side effects the weather causes.
CNN, which has seen its ratings plummet in recent years, is among the many news outlets to blame summer weather on climate change.
On Thursday’s broadcast of CNN This Morning, hosts Poppy Harlow and Boris Sanchez were were joined by CNN Chief Business Correspondent Christine Romans in a segment designed to quickly blame climate change on hot summer temperatures, as well as rising gas prices.
“There [are] a couple of things happening here: They’re still well below last year,” Romans claimed. “Last year, at this time, we were hitting record highs, right? $4.30, last year, at this time, today, they’re $3.71. They’ve been jumping overnight.”
When asked to explain the reason behind these spikes in gas prices, Romans claimed “one of the reasons is the incessant heat means these refineries have to — are going offline for maintenance, they can’t run full throttle when it’s 115 with the heat index, just like people can’t work full throttle outside or on factory floors when it’s so, so hot.”
She then hedged her ridiculous claims by also pointing the finger at Russia, which has become Democrats’ boogeyman for every one of their failures.
“The other reason is, Russia backed out of this grain deal,” Romans added. “And so, you had a rise in all kinds of commodity prices, corn, wheat, barley, all these prices have been going up. And sometimes, you tend to see commodities move together. But mostly, this heat thing has some of these refineries either slowing down or offline for maintenance. And that means they’re not processing as much gasoline.”
At no point during the segment, did any of the commentators even suggest that the recent rise in fuel prices could have anything to do with the Biden regime’s disastrous energy policies.
Energy independence is crucial for America’s prosperity and security
The largely unfounded claims made on CNN last Thursday, blaming Russia and climate change for gas price increases, prove yet again that CNN and other media outlets will do anything to avoid holding the Biden regime accountable.
From day one, President Biden made it abundantly clear that he does not support American energy production, slashing the Keystone XL pipeline right after he took the oath of office.
Achieving energy independence is vital for America’s security and future, but Joe Biden is very much opposed to what’s in America’s best interest.
