Now that he’s graduated high school Barron Trump is reportedly taking a more active role in his father’s Presidential campaign behind the scenes.
Needless to say that isn’t sitting well with everyone.
And Donald Trump dropped a bombshell about his son Barron that put Democrats on notice.
Barron offers some key advice to his dad
Now 18-year-olds, Barron Trump graduated from high school this past spring, and is beginning college this fall.
The son of former President Donald Trump and former First Lady Melania Trump attended one of his father’s campaign rallies for the first time this year.
Donald Trump has acknowledged that his son was in the crowd at a rally he held in early July at his country club in Doral, Florida.
Barron Trump has taken an interest in politics, and is helping his dad with his strategy for reaching younger voters, especially young men, in this election.
Americans under the age of 30 are more difficult to reach through traditional advertising methods.
They often don’t watch TV, and instead watch content created on YouTube and other social media platforms.
Donald Trump has appeared on podcasts and with live streamers as part of this outreach strategy.
The former President told Breitbart that it was Barron who convinced him to appear on a livestream with top streamer Adin Ross, who began his social media career live streaming himself playing video games and now regularly attracts hundreds of thousands of live viewers, with millions more watching clips across the internet.
“My son, he’s a great kid — a tall kid — he’s a great kid,” Trump told Breitbart. “He said ‘Dad, you got to do Adin Ross.’ Barron is the one that pressed me to do it. That’s a big deal, isn’t it? The platform did over 100 million hits in one day.”
Trump’s appearance on Ross’ livestream racked up millions of views across multiple social media platforms.
And it allowed the former President to reach younger voters who don’t watch TV or consume traditional media.
“My son’s told me about you, and they told me about how big, he said, ‘Dad, he’s really big,’” Trump told Ross during his appearance on his livestream.
Trump’s new media strategy for this campaign
Instead of making the rounds for interviews on cable news and broadcast networks, Trump is taking a different approach to media appearances.
Trump has done an interview with podcaster Logan Paul who competes in boxing and professional wrestling.
Paul and Adin Ross appeal to young men under the age of 30 – a demographic that appears to be trending more conservative in recent years.
Trump has also done long-form interviews with Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk on his X platform, former Navy SEAL Shawn Ryan’s podcast, and computer scientist Lex Fridman’s podcast.
Digital communications strategist Tammy Gordan said that podcasters and social media influencers are being treated like traditional media by campaigns.
“This election is where influencers as news sources have really matured into a place where campaigns have real outreach programs and treat them almost like segments of the media,” Gordon said. “And that’s one of the really neat things about the evolution of political advertising.”
Gen Z men are increasingly embracing the Republican Party.
Donald Trump’s strategy of going on podcasts and livestreams allows him to reach a new audience of voters who are receptive to his message.
