Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are one of the most beloved couples in Hollywood.

However not everything is sunshine and rainbows for one of the longest-lasting couples in the entertainment industry.

And now Democrats’ stomachs dropped after Goldie Hawn dropped this ugly truth bomb about life in Hollywood.

Escape from L.A. turns from fiction to reality

When one thinks of southern California, it’s easy to think of the beautiful weather, the historic landmarks, the endless stream of entertainment options, and think, “if you can afford it, it would be a great place to live.”

However, if that’s true, why are so many celebrities and wealthy elites, who can afford the outrageous living expenses and taxes, fleeing the area?

Actor Mark Wahlberg moved his family to Nevada outside of Las Vegas.

Mayor of Kingston star Jeremy Renner also settled in the Silver State, but up north in the Reno area.

Comedic actor Rob Schneider roasted California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom before moving to Arizona.

Comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan packed his bags and left for Texas – and now virtually the entire comedy world is following him.

Rapper Kanye West is saving a bundle now that he lives in Wyoming.

Actor Chris Hemsworth couldn’t wait to get as far away from California as possible, choosing to move all the way back to his native Australia.

Country artist Keith Urban and his actress wife Nicole Kidman enjoy the no-income tax lifestyle in Tennessee.

And actress Busy Phillips headed east for New York, calling Los Angeles, “toxic” in the process.

But it’s not just celebrities escaping Los Angeles.

According to U.S. Census Bureau data, California suffered a net loss of more than 850,000 residents from 2019 to 2023.

Now, actress Goldie Hawn is offering some insight as to why.

Hawn: “It’s just because L.A. is terrible”

Hawn was recently a guest on Kelly Ripas SiriusXM podcast, Let’s Talk Off Camera.

At one point, the conversation steered to the fact that the 78-year-actress was burglarized twice in a mere four-month span.

Hawn described the first robbery, sharing the details of what she found when she and her husband, Kurt Russell, came home from being out for just a couple of hours.

“We came back and went in the house — I went up to the stairs and I walked into my closet,” Hawn said. “I just lost it. They had broken in from the balcony to our bedroom, our closets. And they completely knocked down my door, which is a safe door, so they’re very, very sophisticated, and they got a lot of my goodies, if you know what I mean.”

It wasn’t long after that the academy award winner was once again victimized by rampant California crime.

“I hear this big thump upstairs — and I was alone; Kurt wasn’t there — and I went, ‘What the hell was that?’” Hawn detailed. “It was just like, was that a sonic boom? Did somebody jump somewhere? And as it turned out, the next day, we discovered that they were trying to get in my bedroom while I was in the house.”

The Overboard star added that because of the terrifying experiences, doesn’t feel safe alone in her own home anymore.

So she’s been forced to hire a guard to be on hand whenever alone.

And Hawn believes her experiences are emblematic of the problems in Los Angeles.

“What if we couldn’t live in L.A, where would we live,” Hawn said she and Russell have asked themselves. “We both decided, I think it’s Palm Desert (California). It’s so safe. It’s just because L.A. is terrible.”
