Some celebrities tend to have quite a bit more sway than others when it comes to politics.

And pop star Taylor Swift has long been considered one of the most influential especially for young female voters.

But Democrats’ hope that Taylor Swift will save Joe Biden’s campaign just went up in smoke thanks to this stunning report.

More bad news for Joe Biden

A new poll conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies and Newsweek has suggested that despite Democrats’ hope that her endorsement could save President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign, a majority of respondents’ votes would not be influenced by a Taylor Swift endorsement.

The recently released poll signals a possible decline in the pop star’s power as a political influence after she endorsed President Biden in 2020.

Back then, she said that Biden would start a “healing process” for the country.

However, the new poll results found that 55% of respondents said Swift’s endorsement would not influence how they vote in November.

Approximately 18% overall would be more likely to vote for a Swift-backed candidate, and 15% said they would be less likely to vote for a Swift-endorsed candidate.

For now, Swift has not officially endorsed a candidate in the 2024 Presidential race.

Four years ago, celebrities were much more excited to stand behind Biden than they are this time around.

The Democrat President’s record-low level of popularity, particularly among young progressive voters (who despise his stance on Israel), has made him less popular among the traditionally liberal voter pool.

Meanwhile, celebrities are considering the harm a Biden endorsement might do to their image and personal brand this election season.

A separate Quinnipiac poll found that an eye-popping 67% of voters believe Biden is not fit to serve another term in office.

Another poll from the New York Times found that 73% of registered voters believe he’s too old to be effective as President. 

Swift has stayed silent about Biden over the past four years since she originally endorsed him.

She has also not attacked former President Donald Trump publicly as she did during the previous election cycle.

But that isn’t stopping Democrats from vying for her endorsement.

Some celebrities are begging Swift for help

Hollywood filmmaker Rob Reiner practically begged Swift to publicly back Biden recently.

The woke Hollywood elitist made it obvious that Democrats are desperate for her help.

He wrote on X, “I’d give anything for her to endorse Joe Biden. She would virtually single-handedly save American Democracy.”

Reiner is one of Biden’s biggest Hollywood supporters, donating substantial sums of money directly to his campaigns, while also organizing several elitist fundraisers over the years. 

Meanwhile, the Biden campaign has been actively seeking Swift’s endorsement, but have had no such luck.

Chris Wilman, senior music writer and chief music critic at Variety said, “Conservatives used to talk about Trump Derangement Syndrome, and now I think we have Taylor Derangement Syndrome.”

“People think she is destroying the NFL and the US government at the same time – quite an accomplishment,” he added.
