Chuck Schumer turned white as a ghost after forecasters updated their 2022 Midterm predictions

Democrats in Washington, D.C. have projected an immense amount of confidence throughout the 2022 Midterms.

But with Election Day upon us all of that confidence may have been for naught.

And Chuck Schumer turned white as a ghost after forecasters updated their 2022 Midterm predictions.

Trends Republicans will love

For years now, the Cook Political Report has served as one of the most respected non-partisan election forecasters in America.

Republicans and Democrats alike look to Cook to provide an accurate, sober, and unbiased glimpse at the current election landscape at any given moment in a campaign.

And just days out from Election Day, Cook Political Report updated their 2022 Midterms prediction, shifting ten Democrat-held Congressional seats in Republicans’ favor.

“As the midterms near, seats that were anticipated likely wins for the Democratic Party are now appearing vulnerable for Republican pickup following spikes in violent crime, rising prices of gas and consumer goods, concerns over education, and the ongoing crisis at the southern border,” Fox News reported.

Interestingly enough, the majority of those ten Democrat-held seats also happen to be in some of Democrats’ top strongholds, like California, New York, New Jersey, and Illinois.

In California, Cook Political Report upgraded their ratings for races in the 9th, 26th, and 47th Congressional District – all seats held by Democrats.

Most startling for Democrats was the fact that the 26th District, where Rep. Julia Brownley (D-CA) is seeking re-election, has fallen from “solid Democrat” all the way down to just “lean Democrat” in a matter of weeks.

Meanwhile, in Illinois, Cook upgraded their ratings in the 6th and 14th Congressional Districts, where Democrat Reps. Sean Casten and Lauren Underwood are up for re-election respectively, from “likely Democrat” to “lean Democrat.”

And in New Jersey, Rep. Andy Kim’s (D-NJ) efforts to win re-election just got more complicated, with the race shifting from “likely Democrat” to “lean Democrat,” as well.

That bit of bad news in just three Democrat-controlled states is obviously enough to make Democrats even more nervous than they already are heading into Election Day.

But much to the Left’s dismay, the news only gets worse from here.

It does get worse for Democrats

Of all the Democrat-controlled states in which Cook Political Report upgraded Congressional races, none may be more nerve-wracking for Democrats than New York.

Cook has upgraded their ratings for New York’s 3rd and 4th Congressional Districts – both seats previously held by Democrats who chose not to run for re-election – from “lean Democrat” to outright “toss-up.”

Similarly, in Rep. Joe Morelle’s (D-NY) re-election bid in New York’s 25th Congressional District, the race has shifted from “solid Democrat” to “likely Democrat.”

On top of all that, the race that made the greatest shift towards Republicans in Cook Political Report’s updated Midterms forecast was Oregon’s 5th Congressional District.

After incumbent Rep. Kurt Schrader (D-OR) was defeated by left-wing radical Jamie McLeod-Skinner in Oregon’s Democrat Primary, it’s apparently been all downhill for the Left, as the race has now been shifted from a “toss-up” to “lean Republican.”

Should Republican candidate Lori Chavez-DeRemer pull off the win in the 5th District, it would mark the first time the district has been represented by a Republican since 1997.

Of course, considering all of the failures Democrats have inflicted on the nation – not to mention on Democrat-controlled states – it should come as no surprise that some of these races are trending towards Republicans.

But it’s certainly not going to make Democrats feel any better about their fleeting chance of hanging onto power.
