Chip Roy shocked the nation after he endorsed a Presidential candidate who isn’t even in the race

Donald Trump is the current front runner for the 2024 Republican Presidential nomination.

But one conservative candidate has emerged to potentially rival Trump’s support and win the nomination. 

And now Chip Roy shocked the nation after he endorsed a Presidential candidate who isn’t even in the race.

Trump’s nomination to lose

If you’ve been watching the news you can see that the Republican Presidential Primary is starting to gain some steam. 

The corporate-controlled media and Republican politicians are starting to care about Iowa more than they have at any other time over the past four years. 

Obviously, former President Donald Trump was the first to announce that he was making a third run for the White House at the end of last year.

And polls have shown that while his support amongst Republican voters isn’t as strong as it once was, Trump is starting the 2024 cycle with a major upper hand on almost every other Republican.

Nevertheless, there are still apparently a few establishment candidates who for some reason are willing to challenge Trump in the Primary.

Thus far, former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, have both officially announced that they are seeking the nomination. 

But like all the other establishment candidates vying for the nomination – like former Vice President Mike Pence, former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo – they don’t really have a realistic shot of upending Trump.

However, there is one conservative candidate whose name has been floated as another possible path for freedom-loving Americans to take when they head to the ballot box.

And that conservative is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. 

Chip Roy does the unthinkable

And early this week, Governor DeSantis was endorsed by popular conservative Congressman – and former Chief of Staff to Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) – Chip Roy (R-TX) in a move that no one saw coming.

In a lengthy letter posted on Twitter, Congressman Roy wrote that “Governor DeSantis makes clear he would lead our nation as commander in chief with the kind of resolve and sober strength that produces peace through strength.”

Roy continued outlining the strong conservative stances Governor DeSantis has taken against COVID lockdowns and corporate wokism, writing that “it’s time for younger, but proven, leadership to offer America eight solid years of transformational change.”

And in a move rarely seen in politics, the Congressman endorsed a Presidential candidate who isn’t even in the race yet.

“America needs a leader who will truly defend her and empower the people against the destructive force of unrestrained government and corporate excess, profligate spending, and woke cultural indoctrination,” Roy declared. “That leader is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.”

It is truly amazing to see a prominent Congressman endorse a Presidential candidate who hasn’t even announced that he’s running – but that does show the strength DeSantis has behind him.

One of the worst kept secrets in American politics today is that Governor DeSantis will inevitably announce that he is, in fact, running for President in 2024.

The only real question left after Chip Roy’s endorsement is whether he made it on his own, or coordinated it with Ron DeSantis’ team.
