The war in Israel has been all over the news and in an era of censorship and bias it can be difficult to find the truth.
Democrats aren’t helping this problem by pointing fingers where they should not be pointed.
And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just hit a new level of insanity by accusing this Republican Governor of being responsible for the murder of a child.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) contends that comments made by Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis led to the death of a Palestinian-American boy.
She extrapolated her extreme accusation from a public appearance in which DeSantis addressed the current Israeli crisis.
Governor DeSantis simply said that America should not be accepting refugees from the Gaza Strip during the ongoing war between Israel and Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas, as they refugees can not be properly vetted to ensure they are not connected with Hamas.
The Governor spoke to CBS’ Face the Nation on Sunday to say, “Palestinian Arabs should go to Arab countries. The U.S. should not be absorbing any of those.”
He went on to explain: “If you look at how they behave, not all of them are Hamas, but they are all antisemitic. None of them believe in Israel’s right to exist.”
His statements were not made out of hatred or spite for those experiencing this humanitarian disaster, but rather out of duty and protection for the best interests of the citizens of the country he serves – America.
But soon after, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez used an appearance on CNN NewNight to twist his words and play the blame game.
She called him “incredibly destructive and dangerous.”
“We just had a six-year-old boy stabbed 26 times this morning because of rhetoric like that,” AOC said, referring to DeSantis’ stance.
“It is dangerous,” she added. “It is unacceptable. It is reckless. And no leader in the United States of America should be amplifying a message like that.”
AOC essentially blamed Governor DeSantis for the murder of Wadea Al Fayoume, a 6-year-old boy who was stabbed to death with his mother, who survived, in Illinois.
Their landlord was charged with the murder, and officials in their county say the attack occurred because the family was Muslim, and it is now being investigated as a so-called “hate crime.”
While the deaths of these innocent people are certainly terrible, AOC was out of line to blame DeSantis for the homicidal actions of one person.
Someone needs to remind AOC that it’s possible to both empathize with the terrors that are occurring in Israel while also protecting our own turf from repercussions that could put our own citizens at risk.
