Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is pushing the envelope with her radical agenda.

She’s giving her fellow Democrats heartburn.

And a leading Democrat pointed out one truth that left Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seething with rage.

The Democrat Party embraced a dangerous soft-on-crime agenda in the wake of George Floyd’s 2020 death.

Leftists began trashing the police for simply doing their jobs.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and her radical left-wing “Squad” became the head cheerleaders for the disastrous “Defund the Police” movement.

Combined with no-cash bail and George Soros-backed prosecutors who give violent criminals a slap on the wrist, Democrats unleashed a crime tsunami on the country.

Violent crimes began surging across the country and the crime rate in many Democrat-controlled cities jumped to its highest levels in decades.

Democrats quickly realized that soft-on-crime policies were a major political loser, and tried to distance themselves from the insane policies championed by Ocasio-Cortez.

Crime was back in the national spotlight after Washington, D.C.’s city council voted to lower the penalties for violent crimes, like carjacking, murder and robbery.

Washington, D.C. is already dealing with a spike in crime, and the city council was poised to further embolden criminals.

House Republicans stepped in and asserted their Constitutional authority to overturn the city’s new soft-on-crime bill.

With the 2024 election in mind, Congressional Democrats eagerly jumped on board to try and make themselves look tougher on crime.

President Joe Biden surprised everyone when he announced that he wouldn’t veto the Republican plan to overturn the bill.

But Rep. Ocasio-Cortez raged on social media after Biden refused to back the out-of-control Democrat city council.

Democrats are in the middle of a politically motivated reversal on crime after the issue cost them in the last two elections.

They thought supporting the Republican attempt to restore sanity to Washington, D.C. would give them cover for the 2024 election.

Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) poured cold water on the idea that voting to overturn the Washington, D.C. crime bill would give Democrats political cover.

During an interview with NPR, Senator Warner said that the crime issue cost the Party dearly during the last election.

“If we were to somehow send a message that, all right, we’re going to lower the penalty on carjacking, that doesn’t pass the smell test,” Warner said.

Democrats are desperate to avoid being seen as soft-on-crime with another election on the horizon.

“Warner conceded that the politics around crime are difficult for Democrats and that it could have been a deciding factor against them in the 2022 elections,” NPR Political Correspondent Susan Davis stated.

In New York, Republicans used the state’s rising crime to flip four House seats from Democrats.

Warner lamented that “there might be a Democratic House if folks had handled the crime issue differently.”

Despite the political damage to her Party, “Squad” member Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) said she’s going to continue to push to defund the police.

Crime is going to be a major liability for Democrats with radicals like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez driving the Party’s agenda.
