The Republican Party establishment never seems to learn its lesson about trusting Democrats.
Recently, several signed on to a compromise bill that was supposed to take a big issue off the table.
But Biden just announced a policy push that is making those 15 RINOs look like fools.
Fool me once, shame on you
Following the recent mass murders in Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde, Texas, Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell, tasked his fellow Republican Senator John Cornyn of Texas to team with Republican Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina to work with Democrats on a bipartisan compromise bill to curb the so-called “gun violence.”
GOP Senators Cornyn and Tillis were successful working with Democrat Senators Chris Murphy of Connecticut and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona.
They reached a deal that included money to incentivize states to pass so-called “Red Flag” laws, add a waiting period of between 3 and 10 days, and additional background investigations for people under 21 to purchase a firearm and expand the definition of a “relationship” for the purposes of the enforcement of the laws to include, basically, anyone that one had a fling with in the past.
14 Republicans voted in favor: Blunt (MO), Burr (NC), Capito (WV), Cassidy (LA), Collins (ME), Cornyn (TX), Ernst (IA), Graham (SC), McConnell (KY), Murkowski (AK), Portman (OH), Romney (UT), Tillis (NC) and Young (IN).

15 Republicans joined all 50 Democrats in voting to pass the bill in the Senate and send it to the House, including: Mitch McConnell (KY), John Cornyn (TX), Thom Tillis (NC), Richard Burr (NC), Roy Blunt (MO), Shelley Moore Capito (WV), Bill Cassidy (LA), Susan Collins (ME), Joni Ernst (IA), Lindsey Graham (SC), Lisa Murkowski (AK), Rob Portman (OH), Mitt Romney (UT), Pat Toomey and Todd Young (IN).

The bill then passed the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives and was signed by President Joe Biden.
Fool me twice, shame on me
Moderate GOP political analysts took to Big Media and proclaimed the Gang of 15 saved Republican chances in the 2022 Midterms by reaching a compromise with Democrats that would take the issue off the table in the election cycle and stop further gun-grabbing attempts from the Left side of the aisle.
However, it only took a couple weeks for Democrats to capitalize on another tragedy and put anti-Second Amendment proposals back on the table.
During an Independence Parade on the 4th of July, in the Highland Park area of Chicago, a young man went on a murdering rampage.
Despite the area’s incredibly strict gun laws, the shooter killed seven people and injured at least 46 others.
And President Biden immediately took to the national stage to once again push for more gun control.
“I recently signed the first major bipartisan gun reform legislation in almost thirty years into law,” Biden said in an address following the mass murder. “Which includes actions that will save lives. But there is much more work to do, and I’m not going to give up fighting the epidemic of gun violence.”
More of what’s not working
As Breitbart News is reporting, the so-called “epidemic of gun-violence” is happening in places that already have the types of gun-control laws the President is advocating for in place.
According to Breitbart News, at least 54-people were shot in Chicago during the Independence Day extended weekend – and that doesn’t include the victims of the Highland Park parade rampage.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Sun-Times reports 320 people were killed in Chicago alone in the first six months of 2022.
Now the only question remaining is, will the Senate RINOs “compromise” again with Democrats and take away even more of your God-given right to keep and bear arms?
